So I am thinking of growing a single northern lights auto in my backyard(only accessible from my room) in a 1.5-2 Galon pot, I have upstairs neighbors and neighbors next to me, do you think my parents or my neighbours will smell it? Should I grow it there before it hits flower and transplant into another location?

If you're living with your parents and you don't have permission to grow shame on you. Go find some spot somewhere else or don't grow. If you're in a non-legal state and anything happens your parents are the ones that will face the legal consequences.
