White stuff in my soil?!

Hello I’ve just been to see my girls and there’s some white crap on the soil surface appeared (it had been high ish humidity 56%-70%) is this just the tops of my roots showing because they don’t have much soil in the fabric pots (1/2 full) or is this something more sinister?

Ah thank god I thought I had a fungus coming on because it was only in the damp areas. Sure I’ll cover with soil

there may be fungus in there too but i’m sure its harmless or even beneficial as most microbes are but i mostly see white root tips

also covering your soil with mulch such as straw will be a big help, keeps moisture in and helps the growth of beneficial fungi which your plant will benefit from.

I've never heard of anybody partially filling a fabric pot. Was the pot too big or something?

Tbh I just ran out of soil and didn’t want big plants so thought less soil volume might keep them smaller ‍ I’ve got some more soil now so could top up.

No accident you are using a soil with added if you are using biobizz.

Some organic ferts also have them or encourage them with seaweed. Biobizz as seaweed

Cool I’ve been using the biobizz soil (mixture of all mix and light mix) with bio grow, bio bloom, top max, and bio heaven now and then (like after a hot day where might of got heat stressed) I’m in the loft and it’s hard to control environment

Should have plenty of perlite for drainage in that soil so . RH in veg you want it higher. Assuming you are in veg.

Nah I’m about 4/5 weeks into flower now so trying to lower my RH as buds are starting to fill in

You should try the plant magic OT range.

Or if you aren't bothered by salts the shogun stuff is awesome.

I am mate.

Sure I can try it I’ve come across people talking about plant magic as an alternative to bio. Just went with biobizz because heard it’s decent.

Also wouldn’t mind trying shogun, is that what they call a synthetic nute rather than organic nutes?

Whatever ends up giving me a better end product.... whats the argument of plant magic vs shogun the pros and cons ? Sorry more questions lol
