Defoliation

Hey guys, I defoliators my Bubba Kush about 10 days ago. Was gonna do a second defoliation after 2 weeks. But was wondering if I could give her a final defoliation now?

Plants are currently 3 days into week 4.
I defoliated on week 2.

Also, anyone else LST their plants, keeping it low and like a bush like this? Or am I doing LST wrongly?

All my plants resemble that squatness early on from heavy and continuous LST. Great job on keeping a perfectly even canopy! It wouldn't hurt to pull some leaves if you feel it needs it for airflow.

Don’t defoliate that. It’s spread out so nice. You don’t even have that thick of a canopy and it’s only going to slow the plant down at this point

I'm on week 3 of flowrr on my forst indoor grow. I used a scrog net and have an awsome canopy. I puulled off all the fan leaves right before flowering and I also lollipoped my ladies. A week later the fan leaves were back full. I pulled them off again and now they are back. How many times do I need to remove the leaves?

Why do you want your leaves to disappear. They are the plants primary source of photosynthesis.

Maybe that’s a sign the plant likes them? :hump:

correct. you want all the leafs inside the couple feet grow window alive to soak up sun. Its below that you take off imo. removing good leaves isnt positive. moving fan leafs away and under a bud is good though.

I hate to see the word "Defoliation" in a thread title. I'm one of those that never cuts a single leaf.

I believe that photosynthesis is more beneficial to the plant than defoliation. Photosynthesis occurs in the leaves.

That plant looks great and doesn't need anything removed. It seems that defoliation is now the new craze among newer cannabis growers and they all want to be Edward Scissorhands.

Some plants actually need it.

People hear others talking about it and immediately think they have to do the same. Much in the same way flushing still occurs pre-harvest.

Lots of monkeys.

I'm sure I could have done some defoliation on plants that I've grown with no ill effect but I don't bother. I just let them grow. I'm a damn gardener. Cannabis is just another plant to me and I treat it like I do other plants. I've found that most plants can thrive if just given the basics and left alone. Light, water, and nutrition.

This photo probably makes some people cringe. Cut those leaves! Cut those leaves! :peace:

My defoliation is probably the result of fear of getting PM, budrot etc.

i like to do a defoliation if i have a thick canopy.
its more beneficial indoors. lotsa controversy on it but it does work. i dont go all crazy like and rip every leaf off but a thorough cleaning up is always appreciated by the ladies
im a landing strip kinda guy not a 70s bush.
