Buyer Beware: True North Seedbank

Just putting what I know out there for peeps to decide for themselves...your original Aurora Indica purchase was Canuk? They are all knockoffs using not noteworthy pheno's from non-verifiable sources, do your research before shelling out big $$$ for crappy seeds. There has never been a solid rating on the web for TNSB so why the surprise. You can always get elite clones of IG for 200 bucks or so LMAO. NOT. The seed biz these days is not a 'get what you pay for' market, it's who can look like they are 'trending' the best. Most chuckers "breeds" aren't available long before the first grow reports hit the boards. Look for strain reports and grows not seedbanks stocking the cheapest 'new' strains. I ordered DNA genetics and got them, I didn't like the promised (but not) discretion on their credit card billing, is/was disregarding their customers IMO.

No original purchase was Hash Plant and Hash passion, from True North seedbank but did come in Canuk seed bank packaging, Web site was and still is TNSB when you log on to the site

As i said in a previous comment i was a returning customer, had ordered from True North seedbank, 3 previous times with no issue's, and that totalled 75 seeds.
At the time cannabis was still illegal in Canada so they were selling seeds in packs of 10 and 25, larger as well but thats the packing i ordered.
but as soon as an issue came up, all the sudden it was my Germinating skills and not the seeds that were the issue.
And i got shitty customer service and an offer of 3 seeds that were not Aurora indica.
As for knock off not sure.
They get there seeds from another seed bank Nirvana genetics.
TNSB advertise were they come from and i did text Nirvana Genetics to advise them of the type of company here thats representing there name.
I got a response but i also know they're not responsible as TNSB is the company that i purchased from.

I'd go with some of the American seedbanks or direct from breeders in Canada. There's some fire around if you can sift through all the Euro garbage they grow in Spain now... It sucks that we have to buy 4 packs of feminized mids if we want 'legal' seeds, but great genetics are around at cheaper than hype strains. I'd never buy on IG myself. and there is guys like Jordan of the islands and peakseedbc. Great Canadian breeders with easy payment methods and no BS hype. Solid genetics and great prices from the breeder, not a re-seller. Unless you're looking for shit like Gorilla death panties et al...check the back of a comic book for those seeds LOL.

I've ordered multiple times no problems!! I have had one freebie not germinate out of many grows. Currently running Red Mandarine bought through TNSB from Sweet Seeds. Smells like oranges bad everyone loved it last run. Not to mention nice visual quality.

I have purchased Canuk Seeds from TrueNorth I'm in the process of testing out the GG#4 indoors and out. I'll know if it's good in a few weeks

I enjoyed growing the Canuk Cookie. It's a good one for sure. Also tried their Obi-Wan Kush, not as good but still tasty, and zkittlez glue was excellent as well.

I put in an order on the 14th, a big one but with the discount not a lot of $$.

I will assume it is coming. eventually. I just shake my head and laugh as the service level is so low a business like this would fail in a week if it actually competed in a fully legal market.

Ive called a few times, sure they may be busy but 30 minutes of their recorded message...designed specifically to sound like they are picking up the phone when they in fact are not, also speaks volumes. I can imagine how many orders they lose as people hang up.

I sense they only work a few days a week and i have no idea or real care wtf they do all day besides pick out the packs i ordered and ship them.

Guessing theres maybe 5 people at this company total, and they work Thursday Friday and Saturday.

As the USA legalizes state by state and soon federally, this b.s. will finally be over.

Until then they will run this industry like the shady gray market it is.

My strategy like most things is have multiple options...so if they come, great if not, well F U 2 True North.

I have no doubt the sale bottlenecked things...but when you have a sale like that you normally plan for it. Anyway, my rating for TNSB is LOL, ar least so far.

I owe a response to my original post.

Everything I received from TNSB was legit and grew. One strain had a few duds that didnt germ, and they left out one freebie. With all that said, the deal at the time was well worth it. I have no experience with their Canuck seeds.

Ive ordered twice from them. The Afghan kush x white widow fem from World of Seeds produced a ridiculous amount of bud so they get a thumbs up from me. The hash passion reg freebie that went male was a great breeder, imo, but also im not a fussy fancy leet guy...if it works im happy. 10/10 TNSB is my primary supplier until they fk up which i dont expect to happen

Next grow I’m going to germinate most of these autos and I’ll post here what my germ rate is.

Follow up from June 20’
TLDR - Borderline but acceptable genetics. No germ issues but had some issues with very long grow cycles or not flowering at all (talking autos only here).

Northern Lights Auto - 2/2 germed. Two wildly different phenotypes. Produced good sticky bud though.
OG Kush Auto - 2/2 germed. Two stunningly identical phenotypes. Good yield but these were very slow. Almost thought they were photos because they took almost 7 weeks to flower. Bud was ok but I don’t want 100+ day autos.
Purple Kush Auto - 2/2 germed. Two beautiful purple phenos however very quick to flower and I abused them so plants and yield were very small. Great tasting flowers. Not a heavy hitter more medicinal.
Jack Herer Auto (grown by family member) - 1/1 germed. Nice looking plant but after over 8 weeks without any signs of flower she was chopped. Disappointing.
Bruce Banner Auto (grown by family member) - 1/1 germed. Bit of a runt. Haven’t smoked any.
Cheese Auto (Freebie) - 1/1 germed. Nice easy going plant.

Well the market will decide over time. It took a month to get from them, while it takes about 2 to 3 days from USA vendors I have used.

The deal I got was 70% off, so at that price it was a no brainer. Without that big discount, I have no motive to go to them.

It seems being local there and walking into the shop is how things would work best. One dude earlier in the thread talks about it. At least they are actually a business lol.

Weird. My northern lights autos went 0/5 and they were being grown side by side with some OG kush that all germinated. I’ve been trying to get compensated for months from them and what a disaster. Not sure what’s going on with these guys but I’ll never order from them again
