Thanks for the advice, yes I am aware of the lighting schedule to get better results. I really don't see anything wrong with 12/12 lighting, I have seen plenty of healthy plants that have been grown outdoors, obviously with a 12/12 light schedule. As for cfl's, hps is a much better light for bloom stage, plus a 400w on 12/12 should not be a big bump on my bill.

Hey, thanks a lot. It is really an unfortunate event that you experienced and I wish you the best. But yeah, your grow is looking really nice, your going to have some nice greenery to smoke.

out doors is not 12/12 if you grow out doors the plants whole life it will take you about 8 months start in spring and finish in fall reason for this being the sun is out longer in the spring than the late summer and fall(spring 18/6 fall 12/12) the dark period cause a hormone to build up in the plant which if left off for 12 hours or more will cause the plant to flower. the bad thing about flowering to early is it will stress your plant if its not old enough and can make it go HERMI!!!

Hey guy! I obviously am aware of lighting for veg state etc.. you should read my post before criticizing. My journal welcome's people who want to contribute and help out, critics like you are not welcome on my journal, sorry.

Are the chances of it becoming hermi high? I am actually going to find some 12/12 journals to see what to look out for thanks!

my plants a hermi and well you saw it but that was prob my genetics also bagseed has a higher risk because it prob came from a hermi but any kind of stress can cause a plant to go hermi

You need some nice ventilation fans and a cool tube to get temps down. Im using a 600 with temps between 72L-78H.

I have a pretty good exhaust fan(new air every 30 seconds), my temps are usually 68-75 so I'm not going to air cool my light just yet. My environment has actually been pretty excellent, I just wish night temps would not get in there 50's. Thanks!

Damn you got two of those expensive fans??... Damn bro... hehehe.. I rigged most of mine up and the 8 inch duct fans i have give me some good cfm... Two of those things?.. so are you just using both as exhausts?... what about fresh air?... or do you just keep the tent open...

what's the point of running a 400 watt hps on 12/12 from seed? considering how much you'll harvest compared to how much running the set up costs you might as well keep buying.

A small fan blowing on the plants themselves will help the stems grow strong. Good luck keeping them 12\12. You plant growth will be slow. If your are growing for yourself you should maximize your efforts.

strangerdude562, did you start on 12/12 because you didn't know better or because you wanted to flower from the start? You really would have gotten a much better yield if you vegged. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your harvest though :blsmoke: Post some pics when you get a chance, I'd like to see how the plants are progressing

I just wanted to start flowering and to get the feels of it, I had already done my homework and knew about the photo periods and their benefits. I'll try and post some pics tomorrow. But really people, this is not your grow, If I want to grow 12/12 I can. So please stop bugging me about it.
