Fresh harvest cracker dry before I checked it the first time.

So I hung my entire harvest up in a box with the stems sticking out the top. Everyday I bent a stem to feel it. The plan was to trim and jar it up as soon as I felt the stem get dryish. Today is 5 days since i picked em and when i went to bend the stem it snapped in half. I opened teh box to check the buds and they can turn to dust inbetween my fingers. \
Im hydrating them in my bathroom now with the shower on... when i feel the hydration wanted I will trim and jar.
I know the thc is still there but Ddd I trash all the aroma?
Can the chemistry if the bud ever go back to normal? Or the natural course/ metabolism of the plants is already so thrown off that a proper cure is unobtainable?
Can these buds still be grade A+ or that has come and gone?

Once it is dead and dried. It is dead and dried. You can bring moisture back into the bud but the cure has stopped.

The stem snap thing is bullshit and as far as I'm concerned should be labeled bro science. That thought ruined my first 2 crops.

Drying is way more complicated than...the stem snaps its good.

I've been going with the jar early approach. When the outside of the bud starts to feel dry I trim and jar. You want the rh to be hi in the jar and then burp it down to your desired rh for the cure.

Also the time to dry will vary a lot depending in bud size and amount of stem. So unless you got everything in the dry room exactly the same size you should be jarring differing buds at different times imo.

There will be no cure unfortunately...any enzymes responsible for the activity of curing have probably died off .
Rehydration of overly dried cannabis is just that...a reintroduction of moisture.
Terpenes will be negligible.
Thc levels will have degraded somewhat.
Sorry.

Enzymes aren't alive to begin with... but yeah there's not going to be much going on in there at this point.

Terps may be OK if it took 5 days to get to this point but asking people on the Internet how your weed smells is kinda pointless. If it doesn't smell right now it's not going to smell.

Don't try to make it moist in any way, it's a waste of time and you just risk mould. Just smoke it, relax, and start again.

I slowly hydrated it back all day. I am extremely pleased with the outcome so far. Before i couldnt even handle it to trim now it smells great and was super sticky instead of dusty. Stems are bendy instead of snapping.
I was also going to mention that enzymes are not alive but i figured it wasn't worth it. They certainly can still degrade. Who is to say enzymes alone are responsible for the curing process. If i have learned one thing in life it's that time and pressure shape almost everything.
I will let you all know if it cures or if it taste the same in 3 weeks.
Im sure alot of the chemistry is thrown off but i find it hard to believe that in 5 days its completely unbalanced.

I might take an ounce throw it in a vacuum chamber with some apple for ethylene and some bottom heat.
