Ballast problem.

I have 9 600 watt ballasts. Ipower brand.
The other day i was using a wetvac to clean out resevoirs. I tripped one of my circuit breakers.
Now that my breaker is back on, 1 of the 3 lights on that circuit isnt working. I checked connections. I changed the fuse in the ballast which was not bad but i did it anyway because i didnt have a multimeter to verify.... Still nothing.
So i hooked the light to the ballast next to it and it works. So im assuming i have it narrowed down to the ballast itself. Not sure how a tripped circuit would damage it or of its just weird coincidence.

Just to be clear, this is not a breaker issue. The breaker is one of 3 circuits to my room and everything else on the circuit is fine. 3 lights and a fan and a camera. Everything works except that ballast. I plugged it in to known working outlets.

Any thoughts?

Do you keep your ballasts plugged into surge protectors? It sounds like the initial surge that caused the breaker to trip may have damaged the ballast.
I always have lights and expensive electronics plugged into surge protectors. $10 surge protector or potentially thousands lost in those milliseconds before the breaker tripped.

Think of the surge required to trip a breaker...that's a lot of power in that system temporarily. Move the plugs around to spread the loads, and mind which wall you plug the vac in or other electricals.

Try the dead ballast with a MH bulb. If it lights the MH bulb but not the HPS........you need a new starter/igniter.........about $20.

Depending on age, IPower will probably make it right for you, I'd let them hear about it.

Just had someone I know got a surge and burnt out one of his ballasts and melted one of the plastic ends where the bulb connected.
