Monsanto did not buy General Hydroponics. General Hydroponics is or was part of Hawthorne Gardening which is a subsidiary of ScottsMiracle-Gro. It seems that Scotts has recently pulled GH directly under the Scotts brand. At the time (before Monsanto had bought General Hydroponics) I was using their 3 part, cal-mag, silica, florablend and organic compost with great success.
Most common deficiencies before adding anything were Magnesium and Calcium so they will want that Calmag.
Have you used the megacrop successfully before? My plants didn't seem to like the two part. I always kept EC around 0.8 - 1 for large mature plants. Highest I ever went at the end was 1.2 or 840 PPM (Truncheon). Will try to help anyway I can if you don't have your formula down.
Are you still in veg? All I know is the megacrop is tricky for many and they changed the contents many times so I don't know what you're working with.
They also own Botanicare, Mother Earth, Gavita, Sun Systems, and many other companies. I don't know why people keep saying that Monsanto owns this and that. The only ties to Monsanto Is the fact that ScottsMiracle-Gro is the exclusive distributor of Roundup which is made by Monsanto. And Monsanto is owned by Bayer.
