Coco growers please help. I dont know what went wrong with my seedlings

Hello I just dont know what my issue is this go around. I've grown in soil for about a year and wanted to try out coco coir. With soil it's easy just pop them in a paper towel, drop them in soil and you're rockin. I decided to start my seeds this time in a paper towel and then transfer to root riot cubes. Started with 10 and had 8 die off in the root riots just like the one in the pictures above. Figured maybe the last two would do better once transferred to coco and given some nutes but no luck. I tried searching for what's happening but I can only find people saying damping off/root rot, however you can see in the picture the stem is fine and when I check the cubes, the roots look white and healthy. What do you guys think? It's frustrating cause these seeds were some heaters and I'm pretty sure they're gone for sure now. I just dont want it to happen again. I know many people have success with root riots and coco

She looks burnt. Not sure if it was from light or nutes. Even in coco, at that stage they don't need nutes. I grow DWC, in coir(crazy, I know) and I don't start nutes till she has 3 pairs of serrated leaves.

It might be light, but I've never had an issue before at this light level in soil. And I'm reluctant to say its nutes cause they were dying off in the root riots with only RO water. I appreciate your input. Since I'm not having luck with these root riots, I'm thinking of starting seeds in soil in a plug tray, then washing away the soil at maturity (3 nodes) to then transplant into coco. I figure some transplant shock is better than losing all my seeds to unknown causes

Why wash it away? would it have a negative influence if you just buried it?
On your seedlings, what kind of light are you using? How far away? I only ask because she looks stretched. I have a seedling of wedding cake that I had to put in the shade of a larger plant to get her off the top of her coir.

that seed is gone , you should start a new one

what type of coco and how did you prewash and buffer it?

keys of coco are~
dont let it dry out too much
prepare it correctly by pre wash and buffering
water to 10-20% runoff to avoid salt buildups. If you have your nutrient feed on par you may be able to reduce this %

I start in rapid rooters and go into coco and never have this issue. I'm willing to wager the issue lies outside of those components. My initial thought was damping off as well.

Few questions to help us narrow down the possible cause... do you know the RH and temps of your environment? Did you have these under a humidity dome at any point after they germinated? What's the pH of your RO water? Have you had any issues with bud rot or other mold/mildew issues? I've only ever used tap so the RO is definitely a curveball to me. The other thing I'll mention is usually you put the seed directly into the presoaked cubes... no need for the paper towel step, they serve the same purpose of retaining moisture and creating a damp, dark environment.

I would say your lights are no good.
It stretched up until it burnt on the hot light.
Usually a cheap burple.
