What Band Do You Regret Never Getting The Chance To See Live?

I kicked it with Amy years ago for about an about an hour at my buddy's Tattoo & Piercing Shop on
Melrose Ave in Hollywood, Ca. Inside the shop it was just me, my nephew, Amy her boyfriend at the time and my buddy
who owns the shop. This was the day before the MTV Music Video Awards and she was getting a nose ring put in.
So very very cool you got to see Elton John. I bet it was awesome to say the least! :D
That's cool! Such a waste of talent :(

Honestly I would have rather seen them on their own. I wasn't really crazy about the duet style... Elton blew piano man.

I've seen most of the majors of late 60's, 70's and early 80's. Never saw and wished I did the Beatles, Sly, Chubby Checker, Weather Report, Miles Davis, The Doors, King Crimson, CCR. Now, I went to many "World Series of Rock" type of shows with multiple bands therefore, courtesy of Eli Lilly, Arnar Stone, Bill Rorer and the like, the ones I missed may or may not have been playing ;)

- Queen with Freddie...saw them a couple of years ago with Lambert who did a great job
- Original DP with Ritchie ... saw them with Steve Morse though. Like him more than Ritchie to be honest because Dixie Dregs
- Original Black Sabbath (saw Heaven and Hell a just before RJD died... RIP)
- Pink Floyd...saw Roger Waters but haven't seen Sir David unfortunately
- Ozzy Osbourne with Randy Rhoads in Blizzard tour .. Me and a buddy were 12 years old at the time and an older kid from the Base (Military) said we could go with him. Both of our parents said no so we were fucked. about 25 years later the both of us went to Ozzie for the first time and we phoned our Mom's and reminded them of what they stole from us as youth's.! Randy Rhoads is one of the reasons I began playing guitar 35+ years ago

My most recent concert miss that I slightly regret is Nightwish. I bought tix for me and my daughter a year in advance, and I'd never really listened to them play. Stayed away from the band for the full year, my daughters buddy got her a free ticket to Avenged Sevenfold so I returned the favor for her by giving her friend my Nightwish ticket. Regret missing the band but do not regret giving away the ticket to the girl at all.

There's a shit load more bands I wish I'd checked out live in the 80's like The Scorpions, GnR, a a number of others. Couldn't see them all though.

ELP, J Geils (That would have been fun), Hendrix, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Allman Brothers, Doobie Brothers, Skynrd, the original band (saw them the second time around after Johnny took over, was good) All I can think of at the moment.
Best concert was Pink Floyd X2, 20 years apart. No one has a sound system like them.
The number of bands I have seen is a little longer...lol.
Iv'e seen tons of concert but for me KISS was best in '78. Seen Pink Floyd (The Wall Tour) did a few lines of coke in Heart's limo with the driver, Heart
was inside so I never met them. Did want to say that Johnny Van Zant was a fairly good friend of mine
pre Skynrd when he had The Johnny Van Zant Band. Every time Johnny would arrive in L.A. for gig's the first thing
he would do is call me to meet him, the band and the tour manager in Burbank, Ca. at the Oakwood Apartments (super massive complex)
for me to bring them coke and smoke. Weren't you a bit young to see Hendrix had you the chance? I would have put him
high on my list but when he died in '70 I was 8 years old and I wasn't going to concerts with friends at such
a young age. What gives @raratt? Lol.

I've seen deep purple, Allmans and skynyrd kinda. Early 2000's. But for this threads purpose.. allmans (with duane), Derek and the dominos, Stevie ray, zeppelin, black sabbath, Alice in chains.
Seen Stevie Ray Vaughn at the Universal Amphitheater (Universal City, CA.) and it was awesome.
Seen Sabbath too post Ozzy. Would of been great to see Derek and the Domino's and Zeppelin.
Just thought I'd throw that out there lol.

I'd like to say that I seen Queen with Freddy at The Forum in L.A. on 'shrooms 1980. Man, what a show that was.
I met Brian May and Rodger Taylor. I have shown pix here on RIU of Brain and me and a separate one of Rodger.
Also Randy Rhoads was a friend of mine, we grew up together in Burbank, Ca. although we went to different
Burbank schools (Randy went to John Muir Jr. High, I went to David Starr Jordan Jr. High and Randy went to Burbank High and I went to Burroughs High). It was a small close knit town so everyone pretty much knew everyone and I played guitar as well. My Best
friend since grade school Nick Loft was Randy's very best friend as well till Randy's passing. Nick went to work as A&R Rep at Atlantic Records (Hollywood) after Randy's passing. I have many wonderful memories of the times with Randy
and I together over the years. I did post some pix of Randy here on RIU as well that I took back in the day lol.
I mention all this because you like Queen and Randy so I thought I'd share this with you lol.
