Im in the last 2 to 3 weeks tho and im already starting to see amber trichomes
Which is why many newer growers harvest their plants too early. They see some amber trichomes and chop. That plant has a ways to go. Just visually it screams I'm not done! Too many are stuck on the damn trichomes and that damn chart floating around. You shouldn't even bother looking at the trichomes on a plant that's obviously weeks away from being done. Trichomes seem to be considered some absolute when they're not. Some plants never amber while others amber way before they're ready. Various factors can cause the trichomes to amber early.

I know many are hung up on the trichomes but I don't even bother looking at them. It is not as reliable as many seem to think.

1) GH feeding charts; and
2) jeweler watch repair magnifying lenses with LED lights ($20), so you can see past the hairs and really get a good look at your trichomes. Any magnification lens will do (10x, 25x). For like $40+ you can get an HD magnifying lens/recorder that plugs into your phone. If you're using dry koolbloom (or something for ripening), you're looking at trichomes and waiting for swollen buds, hardened by resin. Wait for it....
What're you talking about bro?? Lmao

haha, when i've had a nitrogen deficiency (or thought that's what it was), leaves turned yellow. you don't seem to have that problem. and i don't worry about it late in flowering, because feeding charts suggest plants need less N toward the end anyway.

magnifying lenses helped me be less anxious about flushing/timing harvest. but like others suggested, it's not dispositive. during ripening, buds swell until hard and seem to form a crust of resin. i'm still trying to get the timing down. when I think they're ready to flush (and it'd only be at the end), i just take them down individually as they're ready, shove them in a closet and flush them for 3+ days. Still working on that part.
