Downsize and simplify

It's been a long time since I grew and used to follow the style of @homebrewer.
I'm busting out some of the old gear to use in a closet.
A couple of questions..
Does the spectrum change much if I dial down my 600w lites to the lowest setting?
I've got happy frog, ocean forest and mother earth coco perlite mix.
I was thinking if mixing the 3 in equal parts. The idea being keep the soil less wet.
Can I improve fox farm soil by doing this, it should I use it as is.

My bud grows with Happy Frog, coco and perlite. Has good results.

I like your thinking. Use what works. Love perlite and notice results. Just wondering if you might include amendments such as worm castings, organic chicken manure and the bottom of the ash tray?

This guy swears by liquid kelp and Alaska Fish Emulsion.

I take it you're referring to Pennington's Alaska Fish Fertilizer and Kelp? Neat stuff. Have you tried MorBloom? Been using MB for flower last two grows. It seems to work best at half strength with pH adjust to 6.3 - 6.5. Last time I used full strength during sixth week then went water only. Won't give it up.

No I haven’t but this guy totally ignores humidity and everything else and still gets jars of bud by keeping it simple.

He laughed when I asked if he used a VPD chart. “I got no use for any of that shit.”

No I haven’t but this guy totally ignores humidity and everything else and still gets jars of bud by keeping it simple.

Wherever the guy lives he must have good water or maybe plenty of rain. That might explain good results without at least pH test.

He waters with spring water. Gets it free from a pipe that people drive for miles to get to.

Everything below or near 30% dimming is fine with HID's.
