Change lighting to 18 hrs

Hi. I’m retired and have consuming cannabis since I was 14 years old. Just started growing in a 3x3 tent and have 4 pretty girls that are quite healthy using Peter’s 20x20x20. So, I’m in the newbie category. My four young girls are getting 12hrs of light. Would it hurt them if I change the lighting to 18 hrs or should I leave them at 12 hrs to be safe?

12 hrs is what you do to flip to flower, did u research at all my friend?

18/6 20/4 or full 24 of light is best
Not really. So what you are saying is at 12 hrs I will get dwarfs plants thus smaller yields. Any suggestions on what to do?

If they started to flower and you now flip the light cycle to 18/6 they will go back into veg...this is called monster cropping. The plants will take for ever to finish but will end up being fucking huge.

You probably don't have space for that so stick to 12/12 for this grow and let them finish.

Yup, you should read up on growing weed, you just limited your harvest by not understanding what your doing and what your plant needs

2 have started flowering. And they’re not autoflowering. Any suggestions?
you "can" switch your light cycle to a veg appropriate one. then they will slowly revert back to veg. but you could risk them going hermie.

or continue on and flower them as is. your yield will suffer but it will give you a chance to flower them and see what problems/issues that will throw your way.

Thank you for not only answering my concern but also informing me of the outcome. You’re right I don’t have the space. Thanks again.
