Blurple vs other LED

Are there significant differences between blurple LEDs and others like HGL? And if so what makes the difference?

As always, bob hit the nail on the head.

That being said, blurples are based on old assumptions about the most effective color spectrums. Newer full-spectrum LEDs are made to use a more natural (and effective) spectrum.

More LEDS + higher quality LEDs mean they run more efficiently (lower percent of the max possible power load per). This means they generate more light and less heat for the same amount of power... that also reduces the need for crazy heat sinks and fans so newer LEDs tend to be much quieter.

For example, my 600w HLG RSPEC (actually 600w power draw) generates about the same heat in my tent that my two old viparspectra "300w" (only 130w actual draw each) did.
