Anyone here tried/using Hydrobuddy to create their own DIY hydro nutes?

I downloaded it & had a bit of a play, but it's doing my head in trying to work out how to drive it properly & what salts to order & in what quantities.

The price of bottled nutes is fucking ridiculous compared to buying stuff in bulk (25Kg bag of CaNO3 ~$40, which is pretty much Part-A of most 2-part mixes).

So.... Extrapolating the logic, you're saying that you shouldn't water your plants when using Seamungus pellets???

I'm pulling your chain here....:P

I've had pellets go "clumpy" on me in the past. I just dissolved the clumps in a bucket of water & applied the diluted results with a watering can. But yeah, keep 'em dry for adding into soil mixes if possible. They're going to break down anyway....
yes and no. The structure the pellets create helps with beneficials in the soil. Not saying it’d be useless but it’s not as good.

you’ll have issues buying some phosphates and nitrates in Australia. Also the micros aren’t really that available in small quantities. I’d recommend just buying a powdered base nutrient (like megacrop) and adding some salts to adjust it as you like. Im still using the original but I’m keen to try the new 2 part (but only part 1 because part 2 is calnit) and buy calnit, mag sulf, map and mkp local to do my own slight adjustments as needed.

i should probably get back into hydro buddy to make sure my numbers are right but my guesses have been working well so far.

instead of trying making a base first up why not try making your own pk 13/14 with some
Mkp and potassium sulf
