Number of plants in an ebb & flow system???

Hey guys i'm just wondering how many plants can be grown properly (not sea of green)in an ebb & flow system that is 18"W x 36"L x 7"D and one that is 24"W x 48"L x 7"D. The reason I'm asking is because I realy only want to grow about 5 or 6 plants tops, so if i can do that in the smaller system i'd rather buy that one and save a bit of money. I plan on growing indica mostly if that helps yu guys with my question at all. Hope some one can help me out so i can get started on my first grow.

1 sq ft. per plant minimum

With the 24x48x7 u can probably grow 8 effectively, fully grown vegetative plants. A 400w might not be sufficient for that.

You could get 4-5 probably in in the other.......i'm doin 6 in a 24.5"W x 36"L x 6(or)7"D....I think 6 might be pushin it with a 400 watter....but we'll see. It's got a lot of mylar and good exhaust system/temperatures.

Yep 400 is not enough if you are growing trees. $00 is enough for the space you are talking about but only if the plants are under 3 ft tall or so. The light just can penetrate that far from a 400. 600 is a better choice if you are growing 6ft plants. :weed:

I'll be be flowerin vegged clones at around 12-16", it's air-cooled hood so I can get light closer. I think that'll work with 6, probably 4 the best, but 6 is doable.

I would recommend more clones in the same space with less veg time. That's just me though. 16" clones are likely gonna get 36-40" tall. Be sure to cut away all lower branching as they will not get light anyway. Lots of people LST but all you are doing it taking away the plants resources trying to flower lower nodes. Just get a big ass top cola. Yield will be the same and single cola plants are a lot easier to trim up.

Wow. That guys turns out a lot of bud. He is using 1800W though. And he vegged a long time and LST'd the fuc$ out of those plants. But it is impressive none the less.

doogleef: I'll have to try that with more clones vegged for less time. Right now I'm gonna run 4 plants that have been vegging for 6+ weeks...they're about 14" right now.
