I’m confused!

Can someone please help me confirm my thoughts on this problem I’m having? It does not appear to be Hemp russet mites or broad mites I have scoped and have not found a single bug. Could PH cause this to occur? The only thing I could think of is earlier this week my water was coming out of the tab a little funny. I randomly decided to smell a gal. jug of water after I filled it up out of the tap & good thing I did cuz caught it smelled ‘soapy’ I shuck up the water and it bubbled up, so I am immediately poured it down the drain and continued to rinse out the jug until it was no longer soapy. Im thinking a gal jug slipped by before I caught the problem. I am in city water so maybe they added too much chlorine? Which Brings us to today, could the wonky water from earlier this week cause these type of symptoms? I’m in ffof & don’t pH. Normally my city water sits at .28 EC @ pH 7.6 Should I do a pH flush & re-inoculate with bennies or avoid flushing @ all costs? Maybe a different pest?

Almost looks a lot like heat or light stress. It’s only on the top of the plant.

Yes focused on top of plant except for this one bottom leaf. Temp is 78F & light is 20” (TSW2000)

My plan moving forward is to flush with pH balanced water and re-inoculate with bennies. I’m leaning in the direction that my soil pH is off, but I don’t have a soil test meter to confirm, so fingers crossed this will solve my problem. I will update results

Everytime i see these problems early on in soil i check to see if it is ffof. I prefer their coco loco. That could be apart of the problem but also, you will need to allow your tap water to sit for about 24 to 48 hours. 48 hours is ideal. Chlorine can damage the root zone and cause lockout.


I know that they say ph is not required in soil however, i believe that is not accurate in my experience. I would ph to 6.3.

what would you use to ph down to 6.3 for soil?

I do not pH & the only addition to my water is recharge (beneficial bacteria & fungi) every once in a while.

When I flush I plan on lowering the pH of my water to 6.5 with regular pH down and then re-inoculate with the bennies unless by tomorrow someone comes up with a better plan of action for me to take

I’m guessing it had to be that funky ass water out of the tap. Ever since that incident I’ve been super paranoid. Good thing 2 because earlier this morning I opened up another gallon jug of water that I left out to sit and same thing happened. It smelled super soapy and when I shook it it bubbled up a little bit. When I tested the water it read .5EC & my normal water is .12. What really trips me out is the very next water jug that I filled up from the night before was completely fine & tested normal at .12EC

Yes i am using ffof so what? I have a bunch of other plants in the same exact soil & this is the only plant acting like this outta the whole bunch. I personally like FFOF, it delivers great results if you know what you’re doing.

I just purchased a air stone so I could bubble the chlorine out of my water. Before I would just let it sit out for about 48 hours before using it.

You do whatever works best for you. *Knock on wood* It seems I have no trouble worrying about my water pH in FFOF Soil
