Yeah dehumidifier adds heat to an already hot basement, but its better than bud rot.I feel for you. When I first started growing, I had about 5lbs of bud go moldy. It's heartbreaking. I run a dehumidifier when I'm drying now.
It doesn't always appear on the leaves sometimes you get powdery mildew form on inner trichomes. Especially in the final weeks-days of bloom. It's mildew powder. You saw the white powder on the leaves of your plants while growing and just ignored it, didn't you?
Thats not chlorine, its calcium. Chlorine evaporates quickly and completelyJust a thought... I have had a few of my patients run into this, and in their cases, it was them using tap water in their regulated drying humidifiers, which will get a white like powdery dust substance, (evaporating chlorine) everywhere, yuck!

Why not just water cure?This.
I used tap water in my humidifier and the calcium buildup was on the fans/filters/walls.
I looked closely at the plants w/ a jewelers loupe and didn't see anything that looked like calcium build up on the plants.
If someone suspects mold spores growing on their chopped/dried weed, couldn't they just let the weed sit in a jar under basic temp/humid conditions for curring and over time monitor changes of the suspected spores w/ a jewelers loupe? Assuming these spores grow.
I had to look that up and found this thread: https://www.rollitup.org/t/can-i-salvage-moldy-harvest.953652/Why not just water cure?
Dude, 80 degrees at 75% RH, and you’re basically begging someone to say it’s not the obvious. That temp and humidity is perfect for PM and bud rot, and it’s been in there like that for a month. Is it from my basement or the plant itself?? Like I prev said I had these plants hanging in my basement 80 degrees 75%RH for up to 4 weeks. Could mold have just have gotten into the plant from hanging for so long?? The mold is not on the outside of the bud, but more on the inside... Its pretty funny though, never had a problem with mold before I let my plants hang and dry for the 4 weeks...Could it just be my mold in my basement?? Would an air purifier help??
I got shit figured just after this thread started now humidity is 48% in the winter with temps of high 60's.. In the summer humidity is around 50% and temps are 76-79 degrees.Dude, 80 degrees at 75% RH, and you’re basically begging someone to say it’s not the obvious. I wasnt curing. I was adding humidity to my grow tent because it was down to 20rh.Why not just water cure?
Worked in a hospital and the OR's are naturally kept clean but we had to control the humidity to keep it under 60% to safeguard it so mold does not grow. Mold is a no-no to smoke, the combustion kills it but the result is toxic to a degree. I have docs to check out (yes it is not just an opinion of some guy on the internet), I have no interest in going through them though. Is it from my basement or the plant itself??
