Any recommendations for first strains

Just thought I’d see if there were any particular strains people would recommend for a first grow?
So I’m just planning on doing 2 plants per grow just for personnel use, 1 Sativa and 1 Indica.
I am leaning towards Durban Poison and Northern Lights
I would prefer not to do autos as want to have a full experience but I’m willing to be swayed if needs be lol.
Anyway how are my choices???

For a first grow I would do 2 easy indicas like afghani.

If you end up growing one sativa and one indica on your first grow, definetely do some research on supercropping and Low Stress Training. BDSM style on the sativa for sure. That way you have similar canopies, and you can adjust light distance stress-free. Also the sativa, will probably take longer to harvest. Happy growing bro!

I also say start with afghan/kush. It stays short, and yields nicely for beginners.

^^^ look through some of the Barney's Farm gear, find one that looks/sounds cool. Simple as that. You can look at any breeder other site really, but I personally enjoy Barney's gear.

Make sure the seeds are feminized, and are NOT "auto" or "auto flower" strains (it will usually say in its name if its an auto). Despite the name making them sound somewhat automated, they can be finicky and unstable, and I wouldn't suggest them for a new grower. Photo period plants are the way to go.

Id also look for an indica dominate strain, as they have shorter flowering times, are more compact in structure, and give a nice stoney high.
