I just happened to be reading back when you asked,Ive been trying to find cover crop seeds locally.Middle of winter here so not much luck.

Often I don't top my plants at all, I usually just LST the single main branch tip downward, and the side shoots really take off. That wouldn't have worked very well with this strain though because even when she was a baby she had a very thick main stem with ultrashort internodal distances and wasn't very flexible.
I think that's why it's good to learn and practice all types of training so that you can apply whatever method best fits the situation. And the situation is never the same if you're always growing new strains from seed. Years ago I used to grow mostly clones from a couple mother plants I kept, but growing the same couple of phenos for years is incredibly boring.
Visit a health food produce store if you're looking for organic seeds suitable for cover cropping. They might even have big bags of organic clover seeds due to the micro-green craze. My lentils and mung beans came from our local Walmart though.
Most of the time I smoke my hash by the single hit in a bong. I have a little hash pipe I use when out and about, like mountain biking, skiing, hiking, fishing, canoeing, etc.Morning @Northwood
I've tried the sticky stuff that would otherwise just melt through my bowl stem by using a nail before too, but it's so much hassle I usually just reserve rosin for that purpose. Before covid when we could share a joint with friends, I'd often roll a nice flower joint with hash rolled into a thin snake as long as the joint. It's a bit of a waste though and doesn't give you the most even burn in the world.

Well holy shit. I didnt think anyone else grew like me. or at least the same pattern. FEED THAT SOIL. This was a wonderful read. Do you ever do any cover crops with some long downward tap roots? Once every other grow ill grow in some cover crop that has 50% Clovers Plus Fenugreek, Vetch, Flax, Cowpeas, Buckwheat, Forage Peas, Millet, Lentils, Crimson Clover, Sweet Yellow, White Clover, Medium Red Clover. When i pop my next round of seeds, I chop it all down turn off the lights and wont go back in till im ready to transplant. around 30ish days.

Once I grew a few daikon in my mix (Chinese/forage radish) in the hope that it would create loads of organic matter deep down in the pot. Did it ever grow fast and big. It almost took over. Unfortunately the plan never worked because my wife pulled all the good ones up for cooking purposes. lol
I am too. A lot of people don't think it's beneficial in indoor no-till, but IMO always having lots of livings plants releasing exudates in their rhizosphere keeps everything going, especially when your current grow is starting to slow down and about to be eventually harvested. Plus they can sequester (soak up) the nutrients as they become available in your soil during the quieter time. The next grow will thank you.
Edit: I should add that everything I've done and applied on this thread has nothing to do with my current grow. It's all been for the next grow. Even all those old dried stems I put in there on page 1 or 2 are there for my next cycle. Bio-cycling takes time, so in this style of growing the second those seedlings pop up, the preparation for the next grow begins to happen.

Im going to pick your noggin. Have you ever noticed a change in your bio activity if you increase your air movement and watering frequency to your mulch layer? Im considering adding a tower fan to my 5x5 and laying it on its side to gently blow under the canopy. This one has a breeze simulator setting. Increase the frequency of watering while decreasing the amount of time watering. By doing so allowing for more O2 to be pulled into the root zone.
I don't know because the only air movement I have way down there has always been due to my screened intake vents on each side of the tent near the floor. I do water often however, just to keep the layer of soil under the mulch (when there was mulch lol) moist at all times. Now it's like keep the top moist until all my cover crop seeds spout and get their roots down. Once the cover is established I can relax a little. She's not taking as much water now that this plant is maturing, so it's like less water but more often.

Ya like ya cover crops. Check these bro. Clothers in there. Sunflower be csreful with it has alleopathic properties (can send out volitile co. Pounds and tell fungi and roots to not feed surrounding plants so it csn have it all. Example here is walnut tree having a bare mud base.. They can select what plants grow there. Ones that benefit them. Crazy. Even as far as 1 mile i believe if u chop a plant it eil let others know so they csn prep. Same for pathogens they csn develop a resistance before it gets to them thats how u can end up with 2 plants bug attacked and others not in same room. Also dame if one is ill they csn help send more to it to repair. So bed planters and multi plants in 1 pot is amazing. Somany stories into them there alive.

How are you measuring when to water to runoff? Do you have a moisture stick or something ?
Well once you're nearing the end of your 7th grow in the same amount of soil in the same pot, you've already gone through most of the trial-and-error part and have a good idea what the plants need for each stage, mostly based on the amount of foliage in the tent and how hard the lights are cranked.
I still off-shoot a bit from time-to-time, but no more than a liter or two. I feed any runoff to my houseplants after sucking it up with the little shop vac.
