Are Forums the best place to learn...?

I've come to the conclusion forums may not be the best place to learn and they may even Harper the progress off a newbie growers. In fact a forum is probably not the best place to start. The best place IMO is a tomato plant. they grow fast and really tell you how they feel. Then i would say start a cannabis plant in compost, don't feed it just water and watch it grow... right the way till it looks dead...

Starting from scratch is not easy. You have every man and his dog with their own personal opinion. Only you no your environment.


From my perspective the best way to start is Organic. It removes so many points of fail, if basic standards are applied. #

Rich living soil IMO is the best way to start, No PH'ing, and minimal feed, Leaving you to just worry about water and temps, along with calmag if using LEDs.


Speak up if you have an easier way to start growing......

I found forums a very good place to learn. id say it depends who you choose to listen to.
Certainly beats a dodgy booklet from a tobacconist in the 80s.

You seem very new to the industry. If you say organics is easier you have no real clue what you're talking about.

Try keeping a compost pile for a year amended correctly. Real sustainable organic farming is A LOT of work. Everybody can buy organic fertilizers but this is not real sustainable organic growing IMO.

It's a complete djungle with amendments and their concentrations and different release rates. Sure there's a lot of recipes online making it easier. But saying organics is easier is just plain wrong.

The thing with readily available mineral nutrients we all follow the same variables and standards and you can actually tell whats in the medium.

What are you talking about bud? I've been growing tomatoes and herbs for well over 2 decades.... Have you been following the thread development?

And yes tomatoes and Cannabis basically needs the same treatment but I bet most people know this by now.

I'd say No. In between sub par growers calling everything "Bro Science". Knocking new growers down. Slinging misinformation to set them up for failure. Without ever trying it themselves. Genuinely not giving a shit.

The best place to learn how to grow weed. Is the grow room. Nothing beats personal experience.

I agree "No." Amazon has 28 book entries under "how to grow marijuana." Get a good book and follow instructions. Forums can be unhelpful, because they can be full of controversy over the finer points of cultivation. Or even controversy over basics. This will lead to beginner confusion. Some soil mixes were designed so that medical patients could fill a pot with soil, plant a seed and water it. Michigan Mix, for example. Once that choice about soil/hydro/coco is made, one can learn about lights, temperature, humidity, ventilation, germination, topping and LST, harvesting, drying, and curing. Hopefully you are already an expert on smoking.
