Are Forums the best place to learn...?

LEDs do not need anything different than any other light or plant, the subjects been trolled to death.

That's helpful information.
I bought into the calmag/led myth early on. Then I realized my leaf temps were lower without the ir I normally got from my HPS. Bumped my canopy temp up about 4 degrees Fahrenheit and they perked right up. Never had an issue since.

Gotcha. Makes sense
I'm not arguing if organics is worse or not.
from a newbies perspective , simply following the gh trio to harvest gives you a basic understanding of nutrients and ratios. buying super soil and watering teaches you 0 and when you have to ammend your soil what do you use for what NPK value, you have to selectively create your living soil. id say that's abit harder for the begginer

I enjoyed throwing the ph pens away
yes the micro herd rules. but didn't this require abit of learning? or did you just understand the relationship between the micros and the soil from the get go? what about dry amendments? or ratios of feeds? or sources of micro elements? surely for the begginer salts reign Supreme

I would think the easiest way to start off would be something like Promix and a 1 bottle nute like Dyna-Gro.

The best place to learn would probably be from published works and online lectures from well respected people in the field.

Dr Bruce Bugbee comes to mind first, he has a PhD in Crop Physiology and has numerous printing and recorded works available.

couldn't agree more. a 1 part is nice but still doesn't teach you why you change from grow to bloom. or the importance of the ratio of N to P to K.

still a KISS method id suggest to a beginner

Bruce puts me to sleep but he is smart af

oh 1000% took me 3 runs of mistakes to finally dial in my specific environment which I think what your kinda saying and so yes it takes some understanding and research into how soil and microbe life work and what they like and etc etc etc so there is a lot more to true living soil than just watering it... its art

but you could be that living soil guy who buys the bags and runs it once and dumps it and buys again.... I guess that's still tech living soil ya know..

I do small runs in 3 gals to test shit but don't give it the full bells and whistles as my 15 gal pots so again to me its easy now bc it clicks but throw me into dwc and ill be looking up my notes from 10 years ago lol
