Need help with Pruning

Hi all,

I’ve topped my plant above the 2nd node (uncle bens method) about 2 weeks ago.

Today, I started pruning and removed all growth from first node and some fan leaves in the center blocking circulation.

my questions are:

- am I pruning correctly?

-should I remove the secondary shoots circles in red?

happy to provide more detail.

You are ROCKING IT. I would 100% snip away those little "auxiliary nodes" for sure unless you want scraggly little annoying buds to trim and pest magnets as I like to call them. I strip away all the lower growth including fan leaves especially once I'm past stretch in flower, usually the beginning of week 3 I go in and thin out fan leaves (water leaves) w/e the hell you want to call them and also snip away any little auxiliary branches that I know are going to just make tiny buds.

Are you gonna do any LST? If so the higher up secondary will turn into tops if not training then they probably won't get enough light anyway

I’m shooting for several big colas rather then a bunch of smaller ones this time. I did some light LST early in veg to spread the the colas further out from each other but only to give enough room for air and light. It’s a heavy kush Indica strain so the leaves are huge

I would pull the branches further apart. They will bush up and be crowded in the middle. I usually try to get my tops out past the edge of the bucket before letting I grow vertically again.

So I’m on my second round of pruning... do I cut off these secondary shoots at the top?

I wanted to tie it down but the stems won’t bend too much anymore. Should I super crop or just let them go?

But won’t that just make the main colas smaller? If I keep all these I will have over 12 tops
To me the big deal is light footprint. If you are lighting a 2x2 area and you have enough light for the whole area, then you want to fill that area at an equal level with tops before flowering. I suggest scrogging. Tuck every top below a certain level until you have filled up your canopy flowering level. Get them trained as closely in height to each other as possible. Before you flip cut any shoots that arent at least near this level.

Decided to wait another week on flower. She has quite a bit since... so I’ll re ask the question.
Should I leave her as is or do any pruning before the switch?
