I read statements like "this isn't who we are" from those who respect law and democracy, but over 49% of Americans voted for Trump as of a 2 months ago. Where do you think that number stands today? Do you think they are going to be happy with their little attack yesterday, or are millions of them currently congratulating themselves and deciding what comes next?

I kinda figure the events of the past week have cut a few percent off Trump's support, anybody who was in his soft support. I'd say he went from 74 million, down to perhaps 60 million as a guess, here are the latest polls. It will take a week to get results on this latest fiasco.

I live in the heart of maga country. Unfortunately one of our elected US Senators objected to Pennsylvania's electoral vote.
My own father and family prance around spewing q-anon lies and crazy bullshit.
There is no debating and convincing the rural Americans bought into the terrorist-Trump agenda.
It is sad and infuriating at the same time. Must be how the family members feel about those with hoarding lifestyle. No way to break through to the fantasy world that Facebook has created for them.

What we are witnessing is a decades long con perpetrated by the Republican parties financial backers that got hijacked by a bunch of criminal con men and a foreign military in 2016.
The 'political mess' is legit because one side has been trolling the other side for decades using their political power to keep the ability to legislate in the hands of one dwindling base of supporters.
As for American culture bit, sounds good but it is bullshit. Name one 'people/country' that has not had something like Trump in their past that isn't Canada.
When a actual state decides they can succeed from the nation like the Russian military has been pushing to anyone that will fall for their propaganda.
Until then, these are just overprivileged mentally unstable people who Trump's militarized trolls (foreign and domestic) have spent years radicalizing all getting triggered at the same time.
"Millions" is a bullshit number. Of course there are 'millions', 10% of the nation is 33 million people.
And 49% of Americans did not vote for Trump. 76/330 = 23% of Americans voted for Trump.
And of those many were tricked into thinking that all that violence happening over the summer was actually due to 'the Democrats' after the same militarized trolling attack I mentioned above was pushing the lie for years on them.
So that 23% of our nation's population dwindles much further when they see Dear Leader's cult causing the problems.
Id say about 3 million or so (about 1% of the hardcore nuts) would be willing to do something, but they will be so isolated (unless online hate circle jerks filled with militarized trolls keeping them snowballed) and unable to keep their mouths shut long enough for someone to not step in and stomp the flame out.

No Hawley signed the objection to Pennsylvania's count forcing the debate, even after the trump-terrorists breached the Capitol. He is a true anti-democratic piece of shit. Obviously the maga is so strong here he sees no other way to secure his political power.

He's spot on in his commentary that there HAS TO BE CONSEQUENCES for Trump & his enablers in the House of Representatives & the Senate.
But, where/will there be any?
Probably fucking not, seeing as they were duly elected by their fucked-up constituents & that won't change.
So, here we are, a Nation divided, separated essentially into 2 camps, the Sane & the fucking Insane.
How do you think this will work out?
