First grow.. things going sideways

First 3 pics are one plant (mindflayer from solfire gardens) last 2 pics are second plant Phoenix fire (solfire gardens freebie) Day 22 since germ in ffof/ ffhf 50/50 mix
Watering with tap water that dechlorinates over night ph tested every time 6.4-6.6. watered with half strength earthjuice “grow” thought over watering was a problem and think nitrogen was actually the issue. Room never gets over 80 or under 70.. RH right around 50-60%

think the plan of action is to just continue waiting as long as possible between watering and watering with just Phd tap water.
Anyone with any expierience got any tips? Are these plants too far gone? Do I leave the leaves that are dying on the plant for as long as possible?

overwatered. try a ph of 6.0 with nutrients and see how the plants react. your plants roots need oxygen, and overwatering them will cause them to drown.

Yeah I thought over watering initially so I’ve let a couple days go in between the last couple waterings. I’m very hesitant to add any more nutrients with the tips of the plants clawing and being so dark green I’m concerned it’s nitrogen tox not over watering. (How those are linked is a convo all to its own I reckon)

You were good until you used Earth Juice .

FFOF alone will carry plant feed for weeks ... on water. Ph to 6.5-6.7 and that’s it.
Add Calmag ( 1 tsp per galLon / 2 tsp for “ bigger issue “ ) ....

That Fox Farm medium is always overthought and many dump too much on top of it.
Let plant acclimate alone in this medium . Make sure if using LED for grow , temps are running higher for warmer leaf and rootmass temps , this will allow good uptake all the way across.

Yeah that’s the conclusion I’m coming to myself. I’m unfamiliar with micro details of “flushing” and don’t know if that would be the way to go here or if it’s best to ride it out and hope they acclimate. I took some clones a few days ago and they are looking ok at the moment..

man you have to cut them leaves on your clones or they will give you problems you are trying to establish roots not grow a tree

Thanks. That makes sense now that you say it. I figure the more green you have the more photosynthesis the plant can do but I suppose if the leaves are in the water probably doing more harm than good ay?

Here .... I just made this graph for you . I have a more detailed thread in my sig. Thinking of making a “ Dummies guide to FFOF “ type of thread. You will see many growers overthink this soil and dump everything into it without letting it do the work upfront. Even a caveman can do it.

Is it wise to let the plant exhaust the nutes in the dirt mix before switching to flower so that there’s not too much nitrogen in the dirt during flower? Probably over thinking it.

Plant doesn’t have to fully deplete it , you keep it “ topped “ of after a few weeks of use ... like a gas tank. Microbial life within host medium will not be off balanced by unnecessary “ additives “ ... same soil mix only continues to keep medium viable. There are some good tweaks- I recommend also for FFOF to help round it out a a solid medium to run.

Kelp ( either in water ) or Kelp meal added to top dress , EWC ( earth worm castings) a no brainer for any soil , ( i add 10% per container volume of medium ) ... if running into some early calmag issues into veg - you can foliar spray ( mag sulfate ) epsom to keep green.

Key to FFOF ... Aeration and matching PH of it.
It already has oyster shell to buffer ph in it.

I don’t use “ boosters “ very much any more , only on test grow bags to see if it brings anything to my layered mixes ..... Kelp brings cytokines into Veg / flowering stage and is organic. I really try to stay a way from too many synth products ... you can definitely taste a difference in cleaner grows. No synth flavors / dyes or other shit.


Boosters :
I ran MOAB , Beastie , Koolbloom and a few others but really didn’t see much improvement in bud development that could’ve been achieved with same soil and kelp or rock phosphate . Beastie was the worst. However , mammoth P is one i have yet to run. Flowering will still utilize nitrogen during those stages to continue leaf cell health and photosynthesis. There are even growers running Jobe plant stakes in their containers with good results. Now you can see how easy it is to blow cash on too many cartoon bottles of colored water.

Thanks that’s all very helpful. I’ve also heard of some boosters being taken off the market because they actually were harmful when smoked too so I don’t doubt there’s tons of snake oil in colorful labels to waste money on.

I’m going to just continue to water with 6.6 ph water every 3 days or so until run off and hope they get their act together. Otherwise I reckon I’ll pop some new beans and work off the clones if they don’t recover....

Don't water every 3 day until runoff, that is to much water for plants that young, and especially when they are growing in a soil or soilless mix. Cannabis plants in general like to get to a point that the soil is pretty much dried out between waterings. Anyhow, you can easily teach yourself how to properly water your plants by simply lifting the pot up, and feeling its weight, if its super light, it's time to water it until 10/20% runoff, if not, give it another day and check its weight again.

Yes this is basically what I mean by every 3 days... it takes about 2-3 days for my pots to dry out.

Too cold, too humid, overwatered or not enough air movement. They arent transpiring quick enough basically...

Update:

Day 17 of flower for these two.
looking good but the mindflayer plant looking a bit Limey/yellow.
Been giving earth juice brand grow, bloom, catalyst, micro. but still yellow.
Ph water properly before adding nutes... could that be an issue? The other plant looks like a better color though and she’s getting the same treatment so idk.
Maybe y’all seasoned vets have an idea
