Cfl Vs T5

What would be better for seedlings/clones a couple T5 tubes... or a 27 watt cfl with reflector on each seedling??? which would prevent streching the most and would grow faster??
Thanks all

Well i have 6 seeds i am going to grow whatever sprouts and is female.... in a rubbermaid... but t5s are 2 feet and there is only about 1 and 1/2 in the rubbermaid.... I could build a wooden box... Do u think T5s are better or CFLS???

I use both and prefer t5 for vegging, but cfls are cheaper, and they will fit easier for you

t5s are a garuenteed slow grow clfs can be faster depending on wattage and spectrum
seriously? i have a 24w t5 6500k that is sprouting seeds fast.. i might get some regular cfls too.. hmm

well i just read what you actually said, 27w per plant is gonna be 1 light per plant, which is always better than a couple bars for 6 ;p

Alright I think im gonna go with cfls because there cheap and avalable everywhere... I am going to use 8 42 watt cfls probly(depending on how many seeds sprout) will take a trip to wall mart or a hardwhere store to try and find those Y splitters and some 6500K/5000K cfls.....I have the guts of a 4 light vanity bar all wired and everything.... i am actualy building a 1 footX 1 and a half foot wooden box inside the rubbermaid probly... useing a 4 " muffin fan for exast and will hook up a diy carbon filter for flowering....

How does it sound????....
How many plants should i be able to flower under 8 42 watt cfls??? ( i will have 2700K for flowering ofcourse)

I say CFL, but you have to mix spectrums and be heavy on the 6500K and 4500K (about 2 to 1)... If you really want to know, watch my album for pictures of new growth from CFLs. The previous growth in soil was from a shop flouro, keep an eye on the rockwool. I will post new pictures up tonight.

Your not going to get even one plant to flower in a box that small, plants grow by double just before producing buds. A heavy indica plant can be well over 6 feet tall. You generally need 12" for growing medium, 24"-36" for plant height and another 12" for lighting.

Well actualy i could build a grow box in the crawl space...havnt been down there much...not sure the height but i would think its about 3 feet high

So on that note....i am still decideing between t5s or Cfls....
I would have to order to get T5s but i am fine with that....

Well would a 4 Foot 8 Bulb T5 produce better bud then cfls??
yes i am planning on useing either t5s or cfls for flowering???
any thoughts?
Thanks

I was just looking at t5s....and you can get a 4 foot 8 bulb T5 that is 432 watts, 5000 lumens per bulb.....for under 500.00
Should i get a mix of 6500K and 2700K bulbs and use both on veg and flowering or get all 6500K for Veg and all 2700K for flowering??????

people say if you mix use 2 proper lights to 1 other light, i like the t5 for starting and veg, i havent seen what they do for flower yet..

I agree with Cannabox.

I also think that if your going to flower you might want CFL over T5 because you can place it in close proximity to the buds and get better results. Plus they are cheap!
