Hey ya'lls

It's that time to start thinking about soil for the next run.

Got my 2 Mars Hydro TSL 2000's and some sweet fem'd seeds on the way.

For soil I know I wanted to use FFOF as a base - I've also heard that pumice is a great organic aerator compared to perlite so I was going to incorporate that as well.

Besides those I am open to suggestions!

For autos bx it works super well, I started with bx because they did have the hp..thi k the only difference one has more perlite in it, I feed every 48 hours so it never drys out 100% but it does come close, I also use air pots and that speeds the drying up but aslong your attentive to your plants this will reward you

HP doesn’t have vermiculite either. I’ve used both. I just prefer the HP.

Your next soil run, use FFOF, Compost(I use Malibu), EWC, 4-4-4 all purpose by DR EARTH, 3-9-4 flower girl by DR EARTH, and perlite. Worked awesome for me. Oh also; don’t feed, don’t ph, just water with plain RO water. Must be RO water.

So seems like everyone is recommending Promix HP or BX. From what I can see the HP is for high humidity/low light environments and the BX seems to be the same with vermiculite added?

I'll be running 2 Mars Hydro TSL2000's as close as I can to the plants - I don't think this would qualify as "low light".

Also, we're struggling to keep our humidity around 45-50% with a humidifier on max setting currently - Not sure if high humidity is my environment either.

I don't have access to RO water =(

This mix sounds great though something like this is exactly what I was looking for.

Do you feed during bloom or literally NEVER feed?

My plants are under a sf2000 in 3 gallon air pots, and I live in canada qhere right now the air is dry as dust, and with bx ive never had any issues with light or humidity, in your grow tent you make the environment you want , it also depends on what your growing. I use bx because I grow autos..they grow so fast they need really light airy mediums..after this grow is done im gonna try bx with a photo and see..but I'm suspect the outcome will be about the same...headach free

So I'm running photos- mainlined photos to be exact. I have a homemade grow tent so it doesn't hold environmental variables the same as a contained unit. Taking a lot of guessing work out with pH and nutes is ideal as that is easy to goof. Do you ever give nutes or just let them autopilot the whole time?

Yup, a week after they break ground I give em molasses with a root booster, then during veg I give molasses with cal/mag, then during flower i use big bud, then the last 2 weeks I use overdrive..and my tent tempnis always around 28, and trying to keep 30%humidity

The only thing I “feed” is fish and kelp fertilizer with molasses. No ph no nothing. And I only add that to my water to encourage new microbe life. If you can fill up a 5 gallon jug at the grocery store, then you have access to RO water. That’s what I did for 6 months and trust me.. it’s worth it!

Really think RO water is the bees knee? I used FFOF, Dr. Earth (Veg&Flower), calmag, kelp, molasses, and a variety of other bottle nutrients and have never RO my water, plain tap that I drink without a filter and I've had decent results. What is the magic about using RO water, I understood that the FFOF was a good buffer and so needing to wasn't required. I'm pretty much a newbie still but if it makes that big of difference I'd swing for a filter.

For a lot of people (like myself) who live in big city’s, the water here is absolute garbage. They pump it with so many chemicals and sterilizers to kill bacteria. Not good for microbial life. 40E64DB5-258B-420C-B5E9-4BA6961C95EC.jpeg
this is literally what’s left in my humidifier which I use only tap water. When growing organics, it’s pure water and it only costs $.30 a gallon. Filters do cost a lot more, but you don’t have to run to the store. Anyways, it’s pure water to keep my soil moist. I can add microbes to this water without worrying about my microbes dying. If my microbes are happy, my plant is happy.

I am a PM/HP fan, but I always mix in some dolomite lime because no matter how many bricks I have opened and used over the years the base pH of PM/HP is always between 5.8 to 6.0.
