Tap water help

I know I can bubble the chlorine out over night qith air stones but I know some chems can't be amd I don't want to kill my living soil .

Can someone smarter than I let me know ? I was using distilled water but have been told thats why my plants are having issues .

Read and read some more. You’re worrying about nothing. Seriously read. Chlorine or chloramine. Most especially in soil.

If it's chloramine you're not bubbling it out, it doesn't off gas. Chlorine will though. I see chlorine listed, not chloramine.

To remove chlorine. You add vitamin C. In a gallon of water. A 1/4 tablet of 500mg is more then enough. The reaction is almost instant.

If you want the exact dose. The US forestry service has a write up about it.

With a 1/4 tablet per gallon. You won't miss. Vitamin C can effect the oxygen content. The solution needs to be areated.

Someone beat me to it! Vitamin C is great, I think you only need 30 mg per gallon, add the minimum amount you need because it raises your PPMs. I use vitamin C every day!!

True story. I use vitamin C in my hottub when I have over chlorinated it.

Its not vitamin C after it reacts to the chlorine. I've seen the chemical spell out.

I couldn't tell you. Its used with fish farms. The fish do fine. I use it on my house plants when using the tap. Nothing happens besides no chlorine.

Allow me to resurrect this thread.

What brand / type of vitamin C do you recommend? I keep finding ones with added flavor or time release capsules.
