2nd pic is an Evo motor, I believe.
My ‘87 was an Evo. I didn’t see the same depth in the upper cylinder covers, probably because of light and shadow.

That ‘87 had loads of character, which correlated with its breaking down often.

The ‘03 I had most recently was blander, but it proved capable of sustained operation under surprisingly adverse conditions.

It's a 1988, 88 inch S&S big bore motor .......... got around 240,000 on the bike since I bought it new. Put the wheels on 'cause I couldn't keep the spokes tight after about 80,000 miles, too many rough roads here in Maine.
The knuckle was a 1947 in a 1953 I think frame. Got it summer after my junior year in high school.
