Growing Cannabis outdoors, in an indoor tent, thats on a balcony

I know right, but this is my only outdoor space I have. Its high enough to be discreet, and will be facing a wall away from the wind. I live in the Northeast, so its winter right now, and it has just snowed.
I almost have my grow tent ready to go, I want to set this up outside. How possible is this to do? My concerns are that when I open the door, cold air will rush in and shock the plants. Enough of this will kill them i'm guessing.
I have my current setup as exhaust, and will be blowing the air out. Intake might blow in too much cold air and kill my plants i'm assuming.
The next thing I was thinking is throwing a heavy blanket over the tent, then go under the blanket and open the tent this way. Would this be possible?

Love to hear what other ideas people have. Is there strains that can handle the cold better? How much of a risk would this be?

Sounds like you’re setting yourself up for a complete failure. A tent won’t do well outside in the winter in the northeast period.

Only one way to find out but do you have a heater to put in there because theoretically it’s almost like a garage

you'll need a tiny heater they have some on Amazon.
If he’s in the northeast ( I imagine Michigan ) he‘d need way more than a tiny heater. I grew in northern mi when I lived there. it gets far too cold to do it this time of year. It would only waste time and money.

Wrap your tent with home insulation, like what's in the walls of a house. Then buy some thin or thick plywood ( whichever ya can afford) make it tightly fitted around the insulation, then make some vent holes. And go from there. Maybe vent Into your tent, via air from your home via dryer vent pipe if possible. But not from your clothes dryer itself I mean lol. Like a filtered room temp. air piped into your tent. Hope that helps:eyesmoke::peace:

Good idea for sure, but bringing in a large piece of plywood might raise questions :D.

Use autos and leave lights on 24/7, maybe LED won’t be warm enough to provide enough heat. Yes a thikk blanket. Vent air from your house into the tent. What if you put the opening of the tent very close to your deck door, to not let a lot of cold in. Have it so that you can bring the plant inside easy and fast

don't do it now.....wait til spring
Yea it does seem like I won't be able to put the tent outside til the spring, especially if i'm going to have to have the tent door open for long periods of time.

Unfortunately I have screen doors, so venting in air from the house is not going to be a possibility. As a newbie grower, I feel like i'm asking for lady luck to be by my side. Maybe next winter I will try and do an outdoor winter setup :D

Why arent we growing indoor? If your waiting until spring, why dont you just use the SUN to grow your plants?

I mean you're simply asking for failure growing on the balcony. Coming from Michigan I can tell you it’s absolutely pointless you wont be able to keep an uninsulated tent warm regardless if the door is opened or not

You could make a "cannabis door" for your window...sorta like a cat door but with a 6" hole for ducting. Then feed the tent with warm house air.
You should be able to dial in the right air flow temps and humidity.
I wouldn't worry about opening the tent for a few minutes here and there, plants should shake it of in a few minutes just like people.

Lol. Plants get frost bite MUCH faster than people. Stick some lettuce or other similar leafy green in your freezer for 10 minutes and then put it on the counter and see what happens.
