I was very confused, I wasn't trying to be unfair, and it took me a while to figure out where some of my confusion was. I apologize for my idiocy and that is why I asked. I am not an advertiser or someone trying to play games, for 4 months I had literally been planning to buy your boards and yesterday I browsed to them to buy one and the price shocked me.
Now the reason it shocked me is because I am a paranoid shit and use a lot of VPNs. It appears that your site was giving me Australian dollars which is where the 1100 came from. Oddly in another tab which maybe was using one less VPN it was showing me your old light in USD, which it still lists as 532 for the 450 watt one.
I wasn't trying to use different metrics either, and I am sorry that it appears that I did with some and didn't with others (wall watts vs board, eg: BD800 I calculated at board watts as well (800) instead of 840, but they are way more expensive than everyone.
Now your similar new system at 470 board watts (20 more than your previous at 450) 490 wall is 837 to 875 US. I was using Australian dollars for this figure and thinking it myself to be US Dollars.
I am sorry, I wasn't trying to offend, more to clarify. All of the confusion was on my part though. What an idiot.
I was thinking a while back at spending a little over 500 dollars (US) for 450 watts and I was excited, when I went back and read your new ones as 1100...I was shocked
In fact, waking up this morning and discovering how wrong I am was exciting to me. Although I need to stay private on here, because most people that know me would be shoving this in my face as I may or may not tend to be a bit arrogant.
Now the correct US price using your wall watts rather than board since it appears I used that on many of the others except BD is closer to 1.71-1.73 depending on options on the light. Which is lower than Amare, Gavita or BD.
It still is a good deal more expensive than your first one...thankfully not nearly as much as I had tricked myself into thinking.
I assume the increased expense is mainly due to it
A) Not being a DIY kit, but rather an assembled plug and play product
B) Having changed the spectrum a bit and added some more expensive diodes?
Can you explain to me the difference between the driver typically included and the optional AB driver
Once again I apologize for misrepresenting your product. To me it was like a kid at Christmas finally ready to get his present then learning his present was twice as much (not paying attention to the Australian dollars).
Here is a thread about the first set of lights that is quite impressive:
So the results from TEKNIK's goniometer testing came back today and we're pretty happy with the results. 2.47 umol/j for a CRI94 board isn't too bad at all. The other board tested 2.46 umol/j at CRI95. First thing I'd like to do is thank TEKNIK for donating their time and resources to this...

A few people have been asking about these boards now that the cat's out of the bag. @Or_Gro has posted his diary here for anyone who's interested in seeing how they perform...
