Bud Candy overpriced garbage?

Look at the ingredients, sugars, amino acids, b vitamins. Sure, plants like these things, but everyone would be better off mixing up their own tea that contains them-molasses, fish hydrolysate (best source of aminos), ewc....you end up with something 10 times cheaper and more effective.

I'm just letting people know that at least one unlabeled ingredient in BC is salicylic acid. The science is in on the effects of it on plants. I am unsure how one purchases and mixes a proper amount of SA to save money from "all these awful nutrient companies ripping us all off." It's a tired argument. A large bottle of Bocaire Clearex is like $30 before discounts. People will tell you how it's only dextrose and sugar and you can mix your own to prevent them from "ripping you off." Personally, my time is worth more or better used by making money to buy said product than by spending my time making my own. People love to hate on AN and almost all nutrient lines and products at some point. I use a variety of products, additives, home teas, etc. I can say with certainty, from experience and experiments, that Bud Igniter and Overdrive from AN visibly makes a distinct, positive difference in my plants. OD, btw, contains at least one unknown ingredient, salicylic acid. I'm not sure what else is unlabeled in these products, but as long as they taste great, yield better, and don't fail pesticide testing, I enjoy paying for and using them. Maybe someone else that doesn't have the time to DYI everything and that has a bit of cash would like to know that many of these products are helpful. Not everything in the world is "BS". #AliveAndKicking

I personally hate bud candy because it changes the flavors and tastes of the plants you use it on. It turned my diesel plants into cotton candy, not what I wanted at all. I know another guy that uses it and everything he grows tastes and smells the same

Plant hormone
Salicylic acid is a phenolic phytohormone and is found in plants with roles in plantgrowth and development, photosynthesis, transpiration, ion uptake and transport. Salicylic acid is involved in endogenous signaling, mediating in plant defense against pathogens.

ABSTRACT
The effects of salicylic acid on growth,
flowering, yield, yield components, and fruit quality of three strawberry cultivars (Festival, Sweet Charli, and Vertona) were investigated during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 growing seasons. Foliar applications of salicylic acid at 0, 1, 2, and 3 mM levels were applied to strawberry cultivars growing outside in a split plot, using a randomized complete block design. Application of a salicylic acid foliar spray at the 3 mM level significantly increased vegetative growth, number of flower clusters, and earliness in the treated strawberry cultivars. Of the treated cultivars, Festival produced the highest fruit yields per plant, along with an extended production season, and lowest percentage of gray mold. The Vertona cultivar had a higher total soluble tissue than the other cultivars, and the Sweet Charli cultivar had the highest titratable acidity.

Previous studies have demonstrated that a wide range of responses might appear after exogenous salicylic acid application, including yield increases (El-Tayeb, 2005; Khodary, 2004; Yildirim et al., 2008; Larque- Saavedra and Martin-Mex, 2007),

Abstract
Silicon (Si) and salicylic acid (SA) foliar applications can benefit cotton yield especially if there is stress during cultivation. The objective of this study was to evaluate the foliar application of Si and SA on the photosynthetic variables and cotton yield. The experimental design used was randomized complete block, constituted by Si foliar application in potassium and sodium balanced silicate form (0 and 3.6 g L−1 of Si) and SA (0 and 210 mg L−1). The treatments were applied in three leaf sprays during the reproductive stage that coincided with water stress in tillage. Therefore, the Si foliar application associated with SA favors the physiological variables, increasing the photosynthesis, stomatal conductance and water use efficiency reflecting on the increase of cotton yield.

Aloe Vera extract.
Great. How do I extract the salicylic acid from Aloe Vera? I'm new to this, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to add just Aloe Vera to my mix, do I?Advanced Nutrients is over priced garbage. Especially Bud Candy. Just look how bad my room looks using their junk...
