Grow kit or buy separate?

So i’m tryna decide if i wanna buy the mars hydro grow tent kit
or buy stuff separate.
I already have a light and hygro meter.
but i was thinking of just getting the 2x2 Marshydro Grow tent kit that comes with everything.
or would it be better to buy stuff separate. i’m not wanting to spend a ton of money what would be my cheaper option?

That's a good price. That light is about $80 cheaper than mine, so it's about the same price but you get the pots and timer. I didn't see that when I got my stuff. With 4 feet high you will need to LST. check my grow for reference. I had it as a 2x2x4.5, then opened up the partition to make it 3x2x4.5.

So should i do the kit or buy stuff separate on amazon since i already have a light?

If it's only $20 difference, I'd Just do the kit but that's me. That way you'll have a spare light, or run them both. $20 for a ts600 is basically what it comes down to.

Well only thing with the kit id still have to buy a fan, PH Tester, rope rachets, Nutrients and more. i think ima buy separate. but thanks for your help!

The kit comes with the fan, and it should come with the rope ratches. I got a cheap PH tester for $10 and its ok, definitely not great but it does the job. Either way you will need to buy nutes. Just something to think about. I went the order separate route so im all about doing that, especially since I was not trying to buy everything off 1 paycheck!

Well i got a 1k budget for this tho i don’t want to spend that much but i’m looking into ac infinity for the carbon filter and fan, instead of the cheap one the kit comes with that the main reason i’m looking separate now. i did some more research into everything.

With that budget, I'd go separate and get exactly what your want! I wanted an ac infinity fan but I couldn't convince my wife. eventually I'l get it. The vivosun fan is ok, but it's definitely louder than advertised .

I spent roughly 700 on mine . Went with a 4x4 ,with 4 ts1000s ,vivo 4 inch in-line fan with carbon cleaner . Fans and a humidifier .

i would love to get a tent that size or bigger i just don’t have the room. how much odor does the carbon filter get rid of? i need to get rid of all
the smell bc it’s gonna be in my room and i don’t wanna smell it everytime i get home.
would 1 fan and filter be enough or should i also get a cheap one to put outside the tent in the room?

I'm generally unimpressed with the performance of a 4" carbon filter. It's better than no filter at all but both my kids have said, "Dad, your house smells like weed." And that was before I put a bonsai mother in my living room as a decorative plant. I grow in a bedroom closet and it's not unpleasant. In fact, it's kinda nice. As long as my clothes don't smell like weed when I go to the office, It's all good. And yeah, i keep my clothes in a separate closet.

2 filters would definitely help. 2 filters = more contact area and more contact time between the fluid (in this case air) and the filter media.

Mr. Frugal here. If you have the patience? Great deals can be had on auction sites. I basically stole most of my supplies with bids or honest negotiations for used and new. Put the time in and you can almost always find a deal. Retail is way over board.

P.S. 4" inlines are noise makers. Not air movers.

The 4 inch one I have says it’s rated for 203 cfm . It covers my 4x4 or so I’m told . So if you are going smaller than you will be fine I’d imagine .
