5 gal Bubble hash machine tips?

I got into it too. I have a 3000 sf shed with a floor drain so the mess wasn't a huge deal. I can't I imagine doing an ice water run in my garage let alone in my house. Id have an ex-wife pretty fast. Dry ice extraction s I do on my garage. The ritual of making ice water hash is revered and the end product can be muy Bueno but time is valuable.

Floor drain and water on tap in MI weather. Keep garage at 50F while washing. Need a better way. Or start wearing my rubber boots. LOL.

Fall of 2019 we had a barn that came with the property spray foamed. I ran electricity and refurbished an old wood stove. That's gonna be my hash spot all winter lol

Yikes! Glad dry ice exists. I did the water method a few times but I like dry ice myself. Both work but dry ice is faster, less mess, and a cleaner product. You can be topping a bowl in minutes.

Arent you running a bunch of old school landrace stuff? That sounds like the perfect fit for Frenchys old school ice water hash method some of those strains might be what made those legendary temple balls back in the day.

Bubble can produce a great product. Best cuts I've ever taken were from clean dab rigs with bubble. Machine it for 5-10 min, do 2 or 3 batches, save the leftover plant material for butter, or an ethanol extract (if you have a distiller.) The grating and drying process is so important for the finest hash, especially if you will be dabing it. I use the 220 bag inside machine and in bucket. Then 120 70 and 32 bags; but the best really comes from separating out the 170, 120, 90, 70, 32 microns; is just very time consuming. I run my trim after drying and curing, and add enough ice to keep temps around 0 C using a thermometer. Use RO water so there is no interference with natural chemical composition of hash. Ice find the best quality you can, making ice from RO is the best but also extremely time consuming. Good luck

So far 2 washes under my belt,I let it soak for an hour and hand stir.Then just bump the machine on off a few times with dry trim.

Has anybody tried a speed reducer on the machine?That would helpful.

I havent used the machine bag, dont think i will you need them to swirl.

You mix dry weed with some dry ice and shake it around over a mirror or flat surface. I use a couple of buckets. One has the bottom cut out and covered with the screening material. That bucket sits in the other one. Add trim and dry ice. The hash falls into the bottom bucket. You could even use the bubble bags and bucket just with dry ice instead.

Yes I'm a landrace kind of guy. I have several Middle Eastern strains that are known for producing hash. Now you've gotten me frustrated because there are so many strains I want to get to but don't have the space.

That's full melt from bubble. No cut. Just wax with no air incorporated. Going to use a safe vape cut for my vape. Everything is as clean as I can get it. No cuts. Working towards diamonds and sauce.

I've only run 3 batches through my machine. I can say you are going to have a wet mess and be very cold. And be ready for a long night or shift. 6 - 9 hours per batch.

I only use 12 cups of material to a five gallon wash bag. I add 8 cups of ice to the bag. Then just cover the bottom of machine with ice. Insert wash bag and again just cover with ice. I then fill machine half way with water. Run for 10 minutes first run. Any longer and you will add color, "green" , to your end. I then increase the time by 5 minutes each successive wash. I am running 6 cycles per bag or load. Could get more out. But arthritis won't let me after exposure to cold. Tips are to keep just enough ice in machine to hear it against the machine. On the minimum side. Ice is a grinder if too much. Always stack your bags in a bucket of water until ready for next run. And rinse them in the next batch batch of water to get the heads out and into the next cycle before the stacking. Carefully spread your bags over a bowl to collect. Use your finger to push the center down and a spray bottle to move material to center. Spray needs adjusting between screens for best effect. Place collected material on a 25 micron screen on shop towels or good paper towels. Nothing that falls apart. Place another 25 micron screen on top and blot water out with more towel. Place in freezer for an hour or so. Grate or plane one grade at a time. While keeping others in freezer. Stop and refreeze if it gets soft. Spread results on wax paper and freze. I use desiccant packs in my mini freezer for 8 - 10 days. Then air dry.

Here are some pics. Ask if I can help. I know I need more info. But far better yields than dry sift or tumbling.

Ok so I ran and collected I have it sitting out now drying should I continue to air dry it or stick in freezer? If so for how long? I plan on pressing it so do I need to cure it?

Only a few experiments here. I prefer dry cured buds for my material. It taste better when pressed before a cure after drying than fresh frozen. No green taste. And I don't freeze the cured buds for more than a couple hours before washing. Plant material seems less likely to break and get in the mix. Still there. But far less. The hash must be grated and dried before pressing. Water will ruin the batch. Or at least make a mess on your paper.

It was pressed. Times and temps vary by strain and development. But around 180 - 200F @ 1000 - 1500lbs. of pressure between 2.5 and 3 minutes per 4 grams per press. That yields a soft clear or almost wax. Increase heat and it becomes harder. Shatter. I forgot that it was pressed in a 25 micron bag. Hope that helps. Best of luck. Peace.

There might be a problem finding dry ice depending where you're at as much of it is currently going towards covid vaccine transportation and storage. Out of curiosity I just called the Fred Meyers down the street to see if they had any and they have it so I'm probably going to get some today and make a batch in case I can't get ice in the future. I have at least 6 ounces of trim to process. I want to press some small blocks of hash to give out as presents to a few friends. I don't smoke it that much myself. It's too strong for me. I prefer something lower in THC.

This was a shatter run. But here is what makes hash dabbable.

That lower standards, higher prices place that now desecrates Fred's name is a good source. My go to here. If no local source. Search a carbonics supplier for food industry. Many, if not most will ship. Just order more than you need to account for shipping loss. Best of luck all.
