I ran 200grams of garbage trim and did a 3 run on it....it’s drying atm so I’ll check in with a weigh in after my morning shit shower and Coffey...the first run was dismal...the 2nd one however was ridiculous in terms of return vs the first one....and the 3rd wash of that 200g yielded about as much as the first wash with noticeable green coming threw more ...

Well spent the last 5 hrs washing trim (dry) and fresh frozen...I won’t be doing my more fresh frozen because my dry trim yielded a hell of a lot more so for now on I’m doing dry runs I’ll update yeilds when dry

Interesting. I have a bunch frozen. Will do over the holidays. What was your approach? Did you let it soak for an hour did the machine run long? Thanks.
Edit. Did you scope your material after? To make sure you got most.

I put a 5 gal. I met of water in freezer untill it was slush then I used that as the water and dumped 2/3 of a bag of ice in the machine then the last 1/3 inside the material bag and closed it and let it sit in the solution for 30-45nmin then ran 3x 15 min cycles then drained So I ran it 3x for a total of 45 min then dumped and collected then ran 2 more without dumping between cycles And collected with this strain only 74 and 25 micron screens where collected for hash pressing on my dab press the 120mand 160 where collected for pipe hash the rest was tossed dry material yielded about 3x more than fresh frozen whole plant so I’ll be only running dry from now on

Thanks. I don’t think most people use the material bag in the machine. Not sure if that would have made a difference.

I have a 5 gallon machine and Payload 8 bag set. My biggest tips are to use 3 bags: 75 or 90, 120 or 160, and 225. Leave the machine in the box. Get dry ice. Don't look back.
Hell no. Those machines are awesome? What did you not like about it? I've only used it twice but I'm loving the results. Way less work than hand stirring and i did 12 washes in 2 hours.

I've only run 3 batches through my machine. I can say you are going to have a wet mess and be very cold. And be ready for a long night or shift. 6 - 9 hours per batch.

I only use 12 cups of material to a five gallon wash bag. I add 8 cups of ice to the bag. Then just cover the bottom of machine with ice. Insert wash bag and again just cover with ice. I then fill machine half way with water. Run for 10 minutes first run. Any longer and you will add color, "green" , to your end. I then increase the time by 5 minutes each successive wash. I am running 6 cycles per bag or load. Could get more out. But arthritis won't let me after exposure to cold. Tips are to keep just enough ice in machine to hear it against the machine. On the minimum side. Ice is a grinder if too much. Always stack your bags in a bucket of water until ready for next run. And rinse them in the next batch batch of water to get the heads out and into the next cycle before the stacking. Carefully spread your bags over a bowl to collect. Use your finger to push the center down and a spray bottle to move material to center. Spray needs adjusting between screens for best effect. Place collected material on a 25 micron screen on shop towels or good paper towels. Nothing that falls apart. Place another 25 micron screen on top and blot water out with more towel. Place in freezer for an hour or so. Grate or plane one grade at a time. While keeping others in freezer. Stop and refreeze if it gets soft. Spread results on wax paper and freze. I use desiccant packs in my mini freezer for 8 - 10 days. Then air dry.

Here are some pics. Ask if I can help. I know I need more info. But far better yields than dry sift or tumbling.

Good luck. Peace. 007.jpg009.jpg010.jpg004.jpg005.jpg

The best thing you can do is go watch a Frenchy Cannoli vid on youtube and see if thats what you'd be interested in doing. I follow his tutorials and its easy asf. Subcool has a thread on here about frenchys old ways and frenchy himself used to respond. As little ice as possible with short 30 second runs to start. Imo, 10minutes is way too long. And dont use the bag. You want the material to be in a vortex, the bag confines it. You do use a lot of water with Frenchy's method I'll admit.

Once you do your first run, take note of what you forgot so you're prepared for the next session.;)

If youre in a cold climate, keep your water outside the night before.

Do the extraction outdoors if its not too cold and youre not freezing your ass off.

Nest your bags. Have a bucket for each bag. Cut the bottoms out so they nest into eachother 220 the first one you see.

Have a table set up for your machine with enough room for spoons, spray bottle, tools and to be able to lay a clean towel on for your bags to rest on between cleanings.

Frenchy uses a lot of stainless steel now, but he has a vid on yt specifically about these portable washers. I highly recommend it good luck, hash making is addicting!

Frenchy is the man. But is your washer actually clean after washing? Keep the bag. These cheap machines do not fully drain and have pockets and recesses throughout. Ugly things can develop between uses.

I knew I was wrong on the 10 minutes. Still adjusting. Thanks for the tip.

And I'm making rosin and diamonds. Hash is just a step. And bonus with lesser quality hash as a by product.

The machine is way less work than stirring without question. My last run with it was right around 2 -2 1/2 hours not including the drying and sorting and shaving. And like most people after you do it a couple times you quickly realize most of the bags can be combined or just left out. Dry ice is so quick, and clean, and handy that it's so I do now. The bags I listed give quality results and just like any process you get better at it each time. From there I have different grades to cook or make qwet with, as well as LOTS of primo kief to burn. Emphasis on lots...as in quantity. It's shocking how much you get. Naysayers always say it's too contaminated, but my friends seem to enjoy it and I'm really happy.....oh yeah my last dry ice run was 2 harvests worth of trim and I was finished in 30 minutes...that would have been 4-5 hours at least with 2 sets of bags. But we all like what we like and I totally get that. Good luck!

Yikes! Glad dry ice exists. I did the water method a few times but I like dry ice myself. Both work but dry ice is faster, less mess, and a cleaner product. You can be topping a bowl in minutes.
Enlighten please. TY. Very difficult to access info on xfinity and google here. Tired of paying for a no longer secure VPN. TY again.

I spend a lot of time cleaning my washer out between runs. Mold is not something i want mixing in with my hash. Im also running small amounts that are one strain, so a work bag just doesnt really work out for me. There woukd be more bag than bud lol.

Well said. Im not processing a lot so it's not a pia or time issue for me.

I love the whole process of working with water. The smells that come out, the simplicity of what is actually needed. The steps dont bother me and I can make my own ice ;)

I got into it too. I have a 3000 sf shed with a floor drain so the mess wasn't a huge deal. I can't I imagine doing an ice water run in my garage let alone in my house. Id have an ex-wife pretty fast. Dry ice extraction s I do on my garage. The ritual of making ice water hash is revered and the end product can be muy Bueno but time is valuable.
