First time Grower Deficiency identification

Hey guys first time grower long time smoker, got it off a mate and apparently it’s a clone of White Widow and Afghan Kush. Been feeding some vegetative stage growth for 4-5 weeks then it started to flower so I swapped to a flowering stage nutrient, didn’t realise it had 0 calcium in it either but after that feed it either got nutrient burn or is deficient of something as you can see the curling leaves and discolouration on old growth. I haven’t trimmed in flowering stage also as I was scared to shock.

Just tap water, one this showed I gave it some Seasol
hmmm... it has some calcium in it (just looked at the analysis) but I am concerned about the much higher levels of NaCl. I would imagine that enough calcium would bring along way too much NaCl (table salt).

Really not a product I would be prone to using.

Some good old fashioned calmag (calimagic is my favorite) would be much better IMO.

What line of nutrients are you using and in what amounts? You should feed that plant, every watering, around 1000 PPM with a well balanced and properly pH'd feed.

Thanks a lot guys, This is what I’m using currently every 2 weeks, with what’s going on atm this is all I can get my hands on at the moment.
Also should I trim the badly affected leaves?

I know this is a few months old but no one really answered your question. your pushing too much k and not enough p (imo anyway) you probably won’t find anything at Bunnings that will be that great. Try your local hydro shop (or eBay) for a cheap 2 part nutrient.

Looks like a ruderalis.

Yep, ruderalis = auto

Definitely looks like it needed some calcium. Are you using filtered water?
What's the significance of asking if he's using filtered water? Is that a no-no?

Filtered water has no calcium or magnesium in it where tap water typically does have these minerals. Using RO water you basically MUST use a calmag product.

Fuck lol

Any advantage to using filter if you can add the cal mag back in?

Of course, sometimes the water has too much of something and filtering the water means you are always starting with a clean slate. Low PPM (<200) tap water can often be used just fine without calmag or with very little calmag, or maybe it has enough calcium and you only need a little epsom salt for magnesium, but filtered water eliminates the guess work or having to get the water lab tested.

So really the only detriment to using filtered water is it takes out the calmag?

Seems like I should just get some calmag and continue using filtered water instead of using the tap. Back in June there was a problem with the cities water where we were advised to not drink it unless we had a secondary filter lol

It's not really even a detriment, since you now have a clean slate and can add what is required. It's not a variable either, so if tap water quality changes it wont matter. That happens a lot out here since we are on a reservoir, the res turns seasonally and the magnesium content varies widely.

So really the only downside to using an RO filter is the large amount of wasted brine water, higher water bill and of course expense of changing filters.

I recommend using Calimagic from GH, with 0 PPM H2O I recommend 5 mL per gallon, add before base nutes.
