Is my micro-grow ready for some mainlining or fim/topping?

Hey all, we've got a micro-grow here and we're looking to do some training to keep the size down but the yields up. We're testing different methods to see how they work in our specific situation.

These are all photoperiods, soil medium, started in solo cups and transplanted after 2.5 weeks to varying sizes (also to see how it works in our setup).

Was looking to use Nebula's manifold process, but the more I looked into mainlining I noticed the plants in the pictures were much larger than our current plants given the nodes (after going back to the plants, I believe most are 5 nodes [correct me if I'm wrong], so would need to wait a little longer for that #6 node)

If we did mainline/top/fim now, any idea what our plant size might look like? Concerned it may be a bit early.

Thanks for the advice!

I've always heard 5 or 6 nodes then its ready to top. dont know about fimming or main lining. I top and lst works great

i would say yes, if your only going to be growing 4 to 6 branches, pinch the top out and then go with the strongest of the branches that grow out of it. good luck

Yeah I think those are ready I topped mine way too late last time they had like 9 nodes and then I had to veg them longer to try and keep up with pruning and it caused all sorts of feeding issues because multiple phenols and different needs based on growth and now they are stretching and they are way too big what week are you trying to flower by?

Props for digging up this thread. These babies are now 2 weeks into flower. Mainlined 4, had to kill 1.

Flipped to flower 8 weeks after seed.

Here's the grow journal: https://www.rollitup.org/t/2nd-budget-micro-grow-2ft.1036755/#post-15962845

Here's my mainline thread: https://www.rollitup.org/t/experiments-with-mainlining.1035827/#post-15962849
I topped 2 counting the first single blade leaves as a node, the other 2 not counting. I have to check my notes to see which we killed.

All looking pretty healthy though. Have 1 with 6 colas, 1 with 7, and 1 with 8. I'm thinking next time of doubling the amount of cola's. We'll see what these yield first tho.

Mines not necessarily a micro grow but it’s space constrained the flower area is only 5’x 10’x 6.5’ so it needs to be done right to utilize the space correctly after the lights are in from floor to the diodes is about 5ft 7 and the set up from the ground takes about 2 feet off another 1 and a half left for the cal from canopy to light so I only got about 2 foot for plants height safely and

Hey man they look like some nice plants though, a tad sad but it's recoverable. Not sure what the def/excess is on the tips of the leaves. Maybe a possible K def?

Did you start a thread for some advice?

Yeah I could use it, I’d appreciate some if you got any, they are coco and I generally feed from 5.8 to 6.2 they are on drippers drain to waste twice daily right now Ec of 1.1 cal mag and flora series by gh with a small amount of uc roots .6ml per gallon idk what’s up with them every time I think I got it under control they are right back up, I do 2.5 cal-mag, 2.5 micro(base) 1.25ml grow, and 3.75 ml bloom,.6 ml/ gallon , brings me to about 550 ppm or 1.1 Ec, my tap water is only about 50 to 70 ppm it varies, for the past week the humidity was excessively high but I got it around 50 now it was like 70 five or take for the past week but I put the dehumidifier right in the tent, instead of between tents now temperature control is trying to dial in, and they are growing a little too close to the light and I’m also trying to work out decent ventilation, not too much or too little, I think I was overly aggressive with the wind for a day or two

Post this in a thread in Plant Problems. The title here will not get the right attention for what you are trying to do. There are a lot of very smart people on here. I have close to 0 knowledge about coco besides I know you gotta ph and keep that shit wet lol. Wish I could offer better advice.

I do know 70 rh is way to high. You want around 50 early flower and 30-40 late flower form what I've read/experienced.

In your thread, make sure to include your light situation. Watts/lumens/distance from plants.
