1st grow lighting question

quick question 4 days into my first grow and just wondering how long to keep the lights on for per day? using 600w hpl light in my grow tent

18 hours. 20 hours. 24 hours. Doesnt really matter in veg.

Photo period girls will benefit from some dark time but most autos can handle 0 dark. Just because they can handle it does not mean it will be optimal. Not to sound chastising, but it does sound like you've just jumped in with both feet, and very little research. I recommend getting anything by Ed Rosenthal, or Jorge Cervantes, both are absolute gurus.

yes it does feel ive jumped straight in the deep end lol, i have been reading and chatting to many people but it seems every one has different opionions lol

I would start with 18 on /6 off and than increase gradually all the way to 22 on / 2 off by the last 2 weeks of veg,that’s what i do.not familiar with Hpl lights but 600w must be kept pretty far from seedlings,just as a reminder.

It does, and we do. My best advice is to listen to all you can and see if it can be applied to your growing situation. No omw will grow quite like you will. You'll have tricks that you've picked up and tweaked to work for you that may not work for someone else and one of the best part is that there are so many different methods to choose from.
