Advice, Help, Feedback on next steps - SRCOG, FIM, Top, prune

Hi All,

Its great to be part of the community!

This post is a bit longer for which I apologize but I have some real noob questions about my current grow and how to take it further

Questions:

• When can I TOP them again? (A)
• Can I top or FIM the side branches (B and C) ?

I want to set up a SCROG for them.

• If I do so how far above the canopy should the net go?
• Which of the branches do I tuck ? (A, B, C ....)
• What do I do with the lower branches (D,E,F,).
  • Do I prune them? How much?
  • If I prune do I leave the fan leaves or do I cut the entire thing

Strains:

• Peyote Critical - Humbolt Seeds
  • Day 38
  • Topped: 15th November
• Gorilla Breadth - Barneys Farm
  • Day 38
  • FIMMed: 15th November
• Moonshine Haze x Ghost Train Haze #1 - Rare Dankness
  • Day 31
  • Topped: 20th November

Grow Set Up:

• Outdoor Grow -
  • Southern Hemisphere (South Africa)
• 12 hrs - 12 hrs
• Organic Super soil
  • Gorilla Mix: https://hydroherbafrica.co.za/product/gorilla-mix-cultivation-soil/
  • Freedom Farms: https://www.freedomfarms.co.za/craft-soil/
• 20 liter pots
• Feeding schedule:
  • 2-4 liters every 2-3 days depending on heat
• Nutrients: - Bio Bizz as per guidelines
  • Bio Bloom
  • Bio Grow
  • Fish Mix

I top at the 5th node and usually while it's quite small. After that I top the two axillaries for four main branches and let the rest grow into the net, tucking till the end of stretch.

Of course, you're outside, so SCROGGING wouldn't be on my agenda. You don't need a flat canopy when the sun is your lightsource.

Being outdoors, I wouldn't prune lower growth, I'd just train it to get more light and moreso airflow.

Actually I wouldn't bother with ANY more pruning. I'd stick to tying down, and supercropping if you want to get heavy handed. Just try to keep main branches distant from each other. I don't know your climate, but in northeast USA, outdoors it gets colder and wetter the closer you get to harvest. Mold is a big concern for me. I have an outdoor grow post linked in my signature so you can see how I trained.

Im keeping these outdoors. Id love to do a tent and all but its super pricey down here so that seems out of range for me for now

O okay I grow in side but there's a lot of good information to be had and unfortunately I don't do any of the technique that you are asking about I'm sure that if you keep us updated they will be able to chime in as always thank you for your time and the best of luck

A quick update - Ive LST them and would really appreciate feedback please
Did I do it correctly - like the side branches tied down. I’ve topped them so will this not be too much stress? At point do I stop the lst?

I grow indoors but are more than happy to go through each plant and say what trainning I would do

maybe completely wrong but I would train the plants the same as indoors to get as many shoots as you can and get an even canopy as the the sun goes over the canopy your shoots should receive more light

I have seen videos on youtube where growers have a good flat canopy and there plants are massive

could you put a few pictures up of each plant and I could go through one plant at a time and others member's could jump in with three views idea's

that's help you grow some tree's

The LST started today 3 hours ago -if it’s the wrong move let me know. All have been topped or fimmed (details in the orifinal post also )

I would top the plant

because as the plant grows it's going to be hard to support and canopy shapes not going to be great.
once you top the plants,

It will put all the energy into the lower shoots and they will really Bush out in no time, become and become very think

100% but it’s just that they’ve allready been topped so the questions is do I undo the LST and just continue the topping or do the two in combination??

I would pull every shoot down(lst) and top the plant, more shoots you can get level around the pot the better.
