Buds not fattening, thinking about an additional light

i’ve had the 2 babies under the same light the whole grow at the same intensity level and i am just entering the 4th week of flowering and my buds aren’t fattening up as they should , i am very very tight on budget and can only aford another mars hydro ts600 to add to my tent , the light i am currently running is the marshydro ts1000 which is the stronger version, will a weaker version of lthe light make a huge difference in my grow, or should i just save the money on go on with my current light only?
One picture was taken a week ago
And te other 3-4 days later

yes the extra light will make a differance to the amount of bud you get back

is that 4 weeks from flip to 12/12 or 2 weeks plus four weeks in total flowering? you need to wait 2+ weeks for them to turn to flowering

Yes adding more light would help. But at the same time some patience would too. First three weeks of flowering is more like stretching. It’s only after that it will produce buds. So I would say you are at the beginning of flowering. You have a long way to go. Have patience. Smoke one and talk to her until she’s ready. And your plants look beautiful. Good luck

Exactly 4 weeks from flipping, maybe I should be more patient but trying to get the maximum yeild for the money invested so far.

Yes i think patience is key i was so tempted because the mars hydro ts600 is as low as 85 canadian dollars on amazon right now i think i could use the extra light because i just moved from a 2x2 to 3.5x3.5

Going from a 2x2 (4 sq ft) to a 3.5x3.5 (12.25 sq ft) is over three times the space, so you need three times the light. 350watts to 400watts is what you need for that space.

Brother. They swell A LOT starting wk 4 and they DONT STOP until basically harvest. My NLA is almost done. Gonna push another 1-2wks but she just KEEPS SWELLING

Also my ice bomb... I didn't think she was going to do much more weight gain. Opened the tent today and BLAM shes STILL SWELLING AT WEEK 6/7

patience is what everyone tells me. So..

PATIENCE ^.^

PS. adding another light could stress and cause FT so maybe get a dimmable and slowly turn it up over time. 20201123_192755.jpg20201123_192745.jpg

They do most of their fattening up in the last like 2-3 weeks of flower, as has been said you should just be patient.

Also I have had experiences with some strains that do not respond well (initially) to a change in light intensity. In fact putting one under a better light basically stunted it for nearly a week. It is not back and better then ever but clearly some strains respond better then others to changes like light intensity (by adding another light for example).

I had a 240W (real watts) LED* in a 2'x4'x5' (8sqft and 30cuft) and it was insufficient. I now have a 600W which when dimmed to 400W is still inadequate (it's ok at 600W). But I also don't have a light mover and one light alone wont cover that 4' length (or 3.5 in your msg).

Just saying IMO that for a 3.5x3.5 space 600W might be better, that or 2 cheaper lights to cover the space more uniformally.

I run around 480 watts in a 4x4 and it's more than enough light to cover the area. My yields have improved from the 600watt HPS I ran in the same space previously. I have my LED's nice and spread out too though. That's the beauty of DIY, you aren't as confined by the fixture design.

I run 800W in my 4x4 and its MORE than enough lol but my goal is also to scrog and fill my entire 4x4 with 4 photos and 2 autos.

800watts? wow, that sounds like overkill. I guarantee that my ladies couldn't handle that much light. I could crank my rig up to close to 600watts if I wanted to, but it would just cause light stress for at least one of my strains.

16sq ft 800W 50W per sq ft.

Its perfect. I'm using 2x LED, 2x QB & a 400W cob led
