Dying halp.

Hey guys I’m wondering if I can get some advice/recommendations/help. I cut 3 of my plants down Thursday and Friday I hung them to dry in a closet with relative humidity of 50% to 60% temperature is 62°F to 73°F (In the day)but they are smelling really hayish. My first plant I cut down this season was an auto and that was at the end of October. It dried for about 5 days and has been sitting in a jar since beginning of November. It is now just starting to finally smell like weed. Is the hay smell just a something that goes away with time or am I doing something wrong that’s creating that? Thanks for all your help.

Yes I know five days was too fast. The auto I know I fucked up but this one I was trying to follow the steps more closely but so far I’m still getting the same result

If the temps are right....the smell "should" leave as you are drying. Dry to fast and you get the hay smell.

Not trying to be a dick but it sounds like you harvested early but as red eyed has said the hay smell can go away with time but next time when you think it time to harvest wait another week as always thank you for your time and the best of luck in all of your endeavors

If it's blowing on what's drying...you don't want direct airflow on it.

So these plants the trichromes were all cloudy and good amount of them were Amber. All red hairs except the sections that were beginning to Foxtail. I know I pulled the auto too fast I know it dried too fast. So when I thought they were done I basically tacked on Another week an a half. They were in their 12th week of flower for 9 wk flowering plant.

No its not. They are hanging from the clothes rack at the top of the closet the fan is on the floor there. There is about 4 1/2 feet between the fan and where the lowest branch hangs

Okay. Thank you and No heat here I live in the south which is why my temps get as high as mid 70s throughout the day.
