Help! Im Needing a Scrog Dr. 1-2lb harvest 1000hps along with others.

Hello out there! Thank you for your attention. Im in need of some help of knowing when to flip to flower for big yields. How high above the screen do we need to veg before flipping to achieve these large yields? (already considering genetics, nutrients and environment are in check)

Im posting pics. My large plant ide like to get a lb at minimum. 1000w hps. The other pics are mars hydro tsl2000 and right now obviously the light above the large plant (cinderella 99) is a 315cmh not a hps, ill be switching that out on flower.

All the help i can get is appreciated, please teach this padawon.

Right now the large plant is 8 inches above the scrog netting currently in a 4x4 space. The mars setup is 7 inches above net in a 3x3.

Ready...set...blow my mind!!?

This is my third run on the cindy 99 genetics. The stretch is manageable with this strain. Just wondering how high we need to take it before flipping to get the killer yields im reading about. Honestly, ive never experienced a huge stretch with any strain yet, but then again this is just grow #4.

I would say you are right, a second scrog net will probably be necessary for the cola weight. How far can a 1000 hps penetrate into a deleafed flowering canopy?

With a 1000 w hps and that footprint, you will be hitting PPFD much higher than the plant can even absorb. Looks like you got this pretty dang handled so I'm assuming you got the nutrients dialed in, now just need to supplement with CO2. If you can hold these parameters you can get a huge yield.20201113_222508.jpg

A 1000w HPS should be able to handle 12" of defoliated canopy pretty easy
But like I said above, your plant can't process that much light without co2 supplementing

Don't forget also to hold a good VPD for flower

Omg! Thank you for some solid information. Ive been wondering about this very topic. Im not running c02 bc temp is under control and its a temporary cost i cant handle yet. Would 750 on my ballast handle this footprint with near similar results within the same 12 inch depth penetration? Im new to the hps game. Im running a mars hydro and spider farmer with the samsung quantum boards on the other 3x3 areas. Proof is in the pudding they say. We will find out.

If 1000 wont be absorbed without the co2 then will the 750 be sufficient on that 4x4 space you think?

I was running a 1000w hps over a 4x4 without co2 myself, but I do feel like it is somewhat inefficient because of that.
A 1000w hps will put out 1000 ppfd+ pretty easy and a plant really can only work with lights up to 800ppfd with ambient co2 levels.

I just swapped out my 1000whps for a spiderfarmer sf4000
Im wondering if it will compete or not, it claims to peak at 974 ppfd with decent distribution at 18" height.
I am debating adding a sf2000 in there too for flower but I need a chiller first (like $400 for hydro ughh)

I enjoyed my spf2000 and my spf1000. I will be upgrading to the spf4000 also. I like the mars hydro however the epistar diodes and the drivers really do make some difference even though mars tried to compensate with higher wattage. Overall fairly happy there.
Wasnt happy with the 315cmh on flower but will try again. Now the hps, im really wanting to hit the couple pound mark. We will see. Im thinking mills nutrients this flower run, we will see.

My guess is if you keep those spf4000 within 18-20 inches of the canopy it should perform great!

I honestly kind of regret buying it haha
Mars hydro (the higher end versions) have extreamly great light distribution. And for just $150 more I could have bought this
This thing has over 1000 ppfd right up the the very edges. That is an insanely good light distribution. And this light is insanely efficient too. On a list of 20 of some of the best LEDS for 3 year runtime costs per usable PPFD this came in first

Those are interesting statistics. From my experience with their lower end lights they dont fit the bill on performance compared to spiderfarmers better quality parts. Dont get me wrong, im not unhappy with them. It is what it is. The griwers choice light is looking pretty sweet uf you ask me but its 1k

Yeah this chart was actually all tested numbers by a YouTuber for MIGRO. He does a lot of reviews and compiled this list based of the ppfd readings he gathered himself. Then calculated light efficiency using that and the consumed watts to make this list
