I found Planet Natural, BEST prices on 125w CFL'S, and I've looked most everywhere!!!They've got good prices on other gardening goodies as well.

Back a few pages he said he used 2700k from start to finish, but on day 16 he switched to flowering, for the veg stage, did he use a 6500k bulb or 2700k? and was it 18/6 or 24/0 you had the lights on for before you switched to flowering. Thanks again.

great question

splitters inside of splitters :) allowed for 8 bulbs in 3 fixtures.. your question is not stupid.. it is my book that should be more clear..

6 bulbs will be adequate.. just be vigilant about bulb placement and proximity to foliage.. the more BULB surface area you can keep near the foliage of the plant, the better.. it does not matter if it is coming from the top or sides...

it is the surface area (of bulb) to surface are of foliage that should be your primary focus..

make sense?

cheers

yes...thank you very much!

Greenstuff...I think he says in this thread that they were all 2700k...at the Wal-mart near me, that's all that was sold in 42-watt configurations. And on Day 2 of the book, it says he went 24/0.

Hey! I have that book! A "kind" friend let me borrow it for a while...I like all the quotes in the corners, and the facts are pretty cool too. The BEST part is the picture diary though. Step by step, day by day. I liked how you flowered at day 16...never would have known you could even do that

GK,(I know others will want to answer but I would like GK to answer these questions, ty)

I just want to start by saying you truly "ROCK!"kiss-ass. Thanks for all the effort you put in to helping some of us get started or those of us just to try new things!

I would really like you to clarify some of the questions that seem to be asked over and over again, please.

1. How many bulbs for your grow?

2. What wattage, color temperature(or name of bulb for it) & lumens(per bulb and total) did you use for your grow in this book?

2.5 What is most important: A) Wattage or equivalent B) Color Temperature C) Lumens per bulb and total

3. What fertilizer did you use and what do you recommend?

4. Where can we find that PH testing kit that you use in almost everyone of your videos / book(mainly looking for just the PH bottle with chart on)?

5. Rockwool cubes are mainly for cloning and only found at hydroponic shops?

6. Did you go 24/0 the second day into veg'n until day 16 when they went into flowering?

7. Alternatives to perlite?

Thanks for any help. I also wanted to say I have watched three videos of your and by the time you got to "The Perfect Garden" you were very entertaining and enjoyable to watch / follow along with. Video no:1 was a bit monotone and boring :D

Peace...

2.5. light proximity seemed to be most important to ME. And light bulb wattage....more specifically I mean... using at least 42 watt CFLS.. some people will say lumens are most important.. that's fine.. i don't want to argue that point.. they may very well be right... but as far as CFLs go... 42 watt or more is what i recommend :)

3. there was no fertilizer added/used other than the fertilizer that was in the MG soil

4. Hydro stores sell those test kits or you can order from
pH/TDS

4.1 how to use - pH Water - See More Buds

5. yes.. i use Rockwool for starting seeds to.. not just MJ but any plant

6. ummmmmmm ? I can't remember I would have to check the book.. it was a couple years ago... I rarely go 24.. i doubt i did 24 hours... I start 18/6 and sometimes go up to 23/1 for 1 or 2 days before switching to flowering..

7. hmmmmm... good question.... if it is just for the bottom of the cotainer.. then gravel will work.. hydropton clay pellets are fine too..

iloveyou

the next book and video are going to be the best yet!

thanks for the comments

Any and ALL ideas are welcome. I'm currently constructing a 2'x2'x4' closet grow. I'm using a 4" duct fan (80 cfm) for my air exhaust, and a 14" tower fan to circulate air within the closet. I have all 4 walls completely covered in black/white poly paper (85% reflective). My lighting is 18-40W CFL (6000K) totaling 47,700 Lumen.

Before I started my grow I wanted to test the room fully equipped with my hygrometer. The results: 102 F and 18% humidity!!!

Please if you have any SERIOUS suggestions feel free to give them.

Impatiently being patient...
