Anyone else tired of waiting for mephisto to open their US store again?

I've grown a few night owl runs, and a few meph runs. Night Owl, fuck Meph.

First batch of seeds I got from Meph killed it. All sprouted and got like 2-3oz of each under blurple lights. Second batch, a few didn't make it, got less out of them. Third and last batch a couple more died, the ones that made it were good....but not as good as night owl.

Night owl seeds have all sprouted and survived to harvest, and I just like them better. Also, the meph store is just trashy and horrible and its a pain in the ass. I'm not trying to be a fucking groupie for a seed bank. Free seeds are great, but if I need them to even out for the bad ones, is it really free? And then I have strains I didn't even want to grow...

Just my .02 but it might not even be worth that much!


edit just got a bunch from seed bazaar. He also runs tons of sativa dominate, which is what I like. No interest in couch lock highs. Gotta go out and get it friends!

There is that, but the bigger issue is lack of quality genetics in the auto world. Meph historically has awesome genetics and is top tier. They’ve been mia for almost a year tho really and it’s frustrating people.
If you are taking the time and effort to grow, you want to grow good stuff. The lack of communication and the constant back peddling from mephisto has people super frustrated at this point. On the auto flower forum a lot of people have given up on them.

They aren’t the end all be all. They aren’t they only one with good stuff. People are getting hung up on the name.

It's a little bit of both I think... their marketing machine is definitely something to behold but there also is a serious lack of great auto genetics around, and Meph is better than most. But I imagine it will be like the craft beer scene... when Heady Topper hit the shelves everyone went all soup sandwich over it, standing in lines for hours and following the delivery trucks around, because there really wasn't any competition at the time. But then all these other breweries started popping up with dope creations and now you can just walk into a beer store anywhere in VT and buy it no problem.

People will get sick of the false scarcity business model, other breeders will make dope autos, demand will decline and Mephisto will reach a point where their seeds are always available... and by then I'll be growing something else anyways

They already do. They’re everywhere. And if autos are all you’re going to make? I mean cmon. They know how to keep people drooling on here.

Ya, their plants look dope.... show me autos from anyone else with the same forum appeal...

And your right, they aren't the only ones anymore, but they've been slinging dope autos for a lot longer than any of these other guys, it takes time for markets to shift and recognize new products. We're just watching it happen right now. Heck, this thread is a part of that change, a group of growers discussing alternatives to the hype machine

Also, if you read any of my posts you'd realize I don't wait on their drops, I try new breeders all the time and grow mostly photos. I was just explaining how these markets tend to work and why the hype is somewhat understandable even if it's misplaced in my opinion.

You know, I remember your user name as being one of the chiller people on here... don't turn into one of those RIU trolls. If you don't grow autos, don't visit the auto threads just to shit on people

It’s funny to watch people drool over some beans. I’m sorry I’m not waiting for some overhyped stuff to come out. I’ve seen their plants they look like plants. Sorry if this is a sore spot. It’s over hyped beans. And yes I did grow autos and they turned out fine. Got the seeds in two days from my order.

The only sore spot is how many people on here feel the need to be negative all the time... I may have took your comments as being more critical than intended as well... hard to tell on the internet haha

It's all good either way. I agree Meph is overhyped, I just understand where the hype comes from. There's a lot of people who want to grow weed with as little effort as possible and they think autos are the answer (Narrator: "they aren't")

That's the thing, there is no rationale... it's an emotional response. Like collecting comic books or the aforementioned fancy beers... someone says it's amazing, then people can't get it, so they want it even more. It's purely irrational... but that doesn't make it wrong
