Uses for run off?

I'm tired of wasting the run off what uses does it have besides the garden outside?

Can it be pH,d and ec adjusted?
Could it be used for rinsing plants? I know rinsing shouldn't be required but it happens.
I've got 2+ litres a day going in the garden I've got the best kept weeds in the country, I'd like to cut it down or recycle it or something other than waste it?

Probably be able to run it through a variety of filtration methods to get something usable out the other end. I do imagine runoff would clog / use up any filters far faster than filtering tap water would.

But without testing methods I guess you will never really know the nutrient profile of this water.

Water the neighbourhoods gardens!:-D

I use my run off to grow tomatoes, peppers, etc on the side. Also use run off re-adjusted (PH/EC) to water clones. Less waste in the summer months when it can go outside into the garden and other things... more waste in the winter.

Do you ever see any signs of deficiencies in your clones?
I'm assuming they're not in soil?

No never. In coco.
I mean guys are re-using their nutes constantly in a RDWC sort of system so the run off is still fine for using.
That has crossed my mind, but when you don't know anything about chemestry then read shit like "specifically formulated for recirculating systems or dwc/nft type marketing stuff.

But yes I agree with you in principle and I'd expect if it wasn't right then your clones would show it.
I'll have another veg tent up and running within the week I'm going to try it out on a vegging plant I've got surplus to requirements.

I've started recycling my coco I don't know wtf I expect it to go but I didn't realise that it could turned back to a bag of coco with minimal effort.

I sometimes reuse coco. I beat it out of the root ball and then put it in a large nursery pot and run the hose through it to rinse it real good. When I use it I soak it in a mild nutrient solution. Never have any issues.

was surprised at what I got back after sifting,it's just like a new bag of coco I wish I'd done it years ago.

It looks and feels like like any other 70/30 coco+perlite mix, I don't know what I expected but this wasn't it, it's a nice bonus!
I've got around 75ltrs sifted and bagged with another 60/70 ltrs of pure coco in the tent, happy days :bigjoint:

It will break down after awhile but no need to toss it after just 1 use. Rinse it real well and grow.

Someone commented on another thread about it going a bit dusty after time but they just add some new stuff, I'll see how it goes but adding new stuff as I go is my plan provided everything is OK.

What put me off even considering trying it was reading something about the roots breaking down having some effects on the ec, that doesn't seem to be the case or not to the point that it has any adverse effects, another chap commented on the same thread saying he doesn't bother sifting the roots out at all and doesn't get any troubles.

I think maybe I've read some marketing stuff deliberately aimed at keeping your/my money going their way...

I re-use my coco once and then gets saved after that for outdoor summer gardening and other plants.

It will get dusted down after a couple uses. I don't use it more than twice.

That's exactly what I do.

Honestly though you can put your run off in any garden or plant rich area. You could literally dump it on your lawn or spray it on your lawn after filtering it to make some epic grass. Its not going to really hurt anything bro we smoke it so if you smoke it hopefully your cool with having it on your lawn.

I pour it over my lawn and a Japanese maple

All my run off goes to outdoor or normal potted plants. Resources in there. Just rotate recipients. You'll see the benefits. My grow soil coco mix is recycled indefinitely. I allow the pots with rootballs to dry completely. Shed the rootball with a hand rake into my mixing bin with the soil. Build my new replacement soil on top and mix in. Better than original. This running organics of course.
