Why does everyone get mad when they find out they are wrong? Just because you been doing something for a while DOESN'T MEAN YOU'VE BEEN DOING IT RIGHT. Anyone who says they don't use cal-mag in coco is full of it. They don't know their nutrients or the basic needs of the plant at that. But anyways - who am I to chime in? Not like I specifically grow in coco or anything. *** also it was clarified that an additional cal/mag supp is not needed when using a combination of other nutrients.

Study this and get back to me at a later date. Peace
That's a good chart and one I've posted numerous times. If you look at it it shows that both P & K can lockout calcium. Those calcium deficiencies typically start to show up mid flower right after many growers start using high P/K bloom additives. Not really relevant in the conversation but related to calcium deficiencies.

I have always thought of internet forums as a platform for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and discussion. My goal was not to say that some do not need to add a calmag supplement but to point out that it is not needed if you are already providing adequate amounts with the nutrients you are using. Many cannabis specific nutrients use formulations that are lacking in both calcium and magnesium so they can sell those separately as a calmag product.

I always state that the reason I do not add a calmag product is because the nutrients I use already contain both. That does not make them a calmag supplement. It makes them a full balanced nutrient that provides everything the plant needs. Are there people that should use calmag? Yes because the nutrients they use are not providing what the plant needs. I don't use those nutrients because I want everything the plant needs without having to use a bunch of additives because they were left out of the nutrient formula to begin with.

The bottom line is that you do not need a calmag product if you're using a nutrient designed to feed the plant everything it needs. Many cannabis specific nutrient lines break everything out requiring a grower to purchase numerous products to supply the nutrients that have been left out of the base nutrients. Which is why once I started reading labels and learning about plant physiology and what purpose each nutrient is used by the plant and what sources those nutrients come from I went to what I'm using now because it's 1/10th the cost and provides everything a plant needs just using it alone without any added calmag product or other additiives.

Pretty sure I stole the chart from u - LMAO!

As far as your goal to state it is no need for ADDITIONAL cal mag in some instances, I concur with that.

My goal was to inform people that you do not need the additional because it is already in the other bottled nutrients. Someone who reads - "I grow in coco and don't need cal/mag" can easily misread that. That's all

* edit the chart comment was for the dude calling people idiots

It's not needed in coco if you already have enough calcium and magnesium in your base nutrients. I use calcium nitrate throughout the grow which is 13% calcium. I never use calmag growing in coco and never have any calcium or magnesium deficiencies. The micronutrient blend I use supplies adequate magnesium as well. These are just inexpensive dry nutrients which is why I laugh at these coco specific nutrients that have you using calmag on top of the base nutrients. If they're coco specific then why don't the formulas contain enough calcium and magnesium to begin with?

Cannabis specific nutrients should be renamed "We leave stuff out of our base nutrients so you have to by more bottles of products".
I agree depending on nute used I use coco tek a and b bloom and still saw cal mag issues untill I bumped up to 300ppm cal mag but I was growing blue dream which is a known cal mag hog
