Did you get the par meter in yet?Well dropped the hammer on an Apogee MQ-500.
I have the same lux meter as that video posted as well. I’ll check the #’s to see if they’re similar. They seem off at 40k lux being 1000 PPFD.
Grabbed the meter from Hoskin.ca here in Canada. Be a bit before it arrives and I can play with it.
Yes, an awesome lil device. No more guesswork. The dimmers are actually useful now on the lights.Did you get the par meter in yet?
Would the 120 sensor do the same as the 500, and I’ll check it out but honestly I just need ppfd measurements. With my supplemental lights I thought it may be a little more difficult for a regular spectrum readerYes, an awesome lil device. No more guesswork. The dimmers are actually useful now on the lights.
BUT>>> check out @bk78 shitshow grow. He has a new Pulse monitor WITH par meter and a host of other goodies for damn near the same price as the Apogee!!! lil different, but definetely keeping my eye on that lil gadget.

a Lux meter is optimized for this range of the spectrum.
Just getting the sensor whether usb or the one that cost 184 it’s pretty much half price of a 500. But sounds like I’m getting sold on this 500. I might buy the 120 in a couple months to see how it compare. I’ll let y’all knowGot me there man, I am not sure. Off the top of my head I think I went with the MQ500 because the spectrum range it reads is wider. I think it is more in tuned for LED lighting... although if you have some 730's and 380nm's in there it might not read those accurately.
I have a mix of LM301b's and various supplementals. Cree, Osram..LG...660's, 730's, 380's or whatever they are that Meijiu and Bava use. 5 fixtures, 4 different configurations.
I had a heck of a time with a lux meter trying to figure out optimal canopy height. Between conversions and inaccuracies I never felt confident in it. And bleached tops for me being greedy on the push. lol
PAR meter- I add 15% to the reading for my supplemental boards and they all seem to jive now. I look for 400-500 par in vege and creep it up through stretch. Settle on 800 for flower this run. Seems beautiful in all my tents. Raised a few lights and turned one up. Now I have all my lights set at height so I just play with dimming and don't fuck with the light height. Major pain in the ass.
I will tell you.. with the par meter it's been easy to find the "prayer" PPFD and tune that in now. As long as my nutes are tuned with temp and humidity it's prayer city in every tent now.

Hoskins.ca I think. Scientific supply in Canada. About $900 CAD all in.What did you end up spending on the apogee?
I end up getting the SQ 626, tomorrow I’m going to play around with my boards with 660 and 730. I can’t wait untill my new boards come in and I’ll have uv strips added to their frame.Hoskins.ca I think. Scientific supply in Canada. About $900 CAD all in.
