I waited till my male was close to dropping pollen, then took cuttings, put in a glass of water on a sheet pan lined with paper.Wondering what to do with my males. I got 2 that look amazing... would it be safe to flower them in the same room, different tent, to collect pollen?
Not sure if your aware but your hand seems low on nitrogen.I like to leaf them alone!

It's not to late to tie it over, if that were living here I'd bend that top down to pot level, if you tie over it takes away apical dominance and the side branches will fill out.
Tall plants are a waste of light you want the full plant bathed in intense light not just the top.
It looks nice and healthy, nice one!
Lovely nailsThe hps light doesn't lend itself to photography, I've taken another under mh lol.

Cool! I might let a male get a little more mature and then move him into another room and do this. Thanks man.I waited till my male was close to dropping pollen, then took cuttings, put in a glass of water on a sheet pan lined with paper.
After a week or so the flowers opened and dropped pollen.

I wouldnt try this in the same room as the girls
No doubt. I'm aware for the most part. Just not attempting any sort of training or anything in round 1 of the pheno hunt. My other flower tent is monstercropped clones, heavily defoliated, topped twice, tied down, supercropped and scrog. Lol. I have a pretty good idea of how I want to train moving forward but I kind of like the idea of just letting them go for the first round of the pheno hunt... no waiting for recovery from stress, so I can just flip them sooner, see traits sooner and then ultimately get the clones I took into the veg sooner and manipulate those. Def not enough room for tying plants down in the 4x3 so packed tight.I think if you don't top, the lower and mid fan leaves are encouraged to get bigger since the light is moved up and further away. Long story short the sooner and more often you top, the smaller the fan leaves tend to be. This can be strain dependent but also I feel that low light intensity (like cfl) can also encourage bigger fan leaves.
I would not remove mid to upper fan leaves unless you are very scared of severe over lap and potential mold issues. I would however remove all lower growth regardless. What constitutes lower growth depends on the size of your plants and depth of your light penetration.
Just as a rough guide. For 600W hps the decent depth seems to hover around the 12inch mark from top bud (this is subjective to peoples idea of mature bud). Anything below 16inches I would consider as lower growth.
For led or cob it appears that about 6inch bud depth (in a filled flat canopy at-least) is the cut off for decent mature top bud, again subjective to peoples definition. Anywhere below 10-12 inches will be fading in appearance of maturity.
If you don't run a flat canopy you may see buds further down maturing that may not otherwise. However, over all you would expect to see a loss in yield due to the light levels across the canopy not being at optimal levels. But it is a dynamic scale, in some growing styles an uneven canopy will yield more.
Some people keep the mid to lower growth and hash it down in various ways. Others remove all the lower mid to lower growth in hope that it increases weight at the top. I am unsure how true that venture actually is.
I'm actually doing the same thing just now, (looking for a couple of good mothers) tbh I realised I'd made a mistake in the middle of week 3 12/12 it was getting out of control but I managed to tame it a bit using a net.No doubt. I was maybe going to do some light lst on a few branches that are hugging the main stalk really bad, but other than that I had no plans haha. Maybe I'll put together a scrog but I was looking forward to leaving these ones be. The one thing I dong like about my scrog in the flower tent is I cant move the pots and the ones in the back are a real bitch to water, even with my pump and wand hahaha.I'm actually doing the same thing just now, (looking for a couple of good mothers) tbh I realised I'd made a mistake in the middle of week 3 12/12 it was getting out of control but I managed to tame it a bit using a net.

I'd only tied them over minimum work but some stretched more than other and I don't believe in pleasing one cola lol

Netted level and some control over the situation but it could have been 25/30% better if I have done it 10/14 days earlier.
I'm pretty optimistic about getting a couple of good phenos from a pack of sensi blackberry cake, one has a beautiful fruity small one other has a strong citrus smell and one has a earthy spicy smell, considering its a 10 pack of blackberry there's a wide variety of smells, sativa and indica traits.
That’s my no1 dislike I can't get in the tent, every single little thing requires stretching, leaning, bending and reaching, I nearly landed in it one day trying to tuck a few heads under.I was maybe going to do some light lst on a few branches that are hugging the main stalk really bad, but other than that I had no plans haha. It's why it doesn't pay to get all serious around here, I end up missing all the jokesNot sure if your aware but your hand seems low on nitrogen.
Have you Phed it??
I like that idea. I follow this dude on IG @dubxxl that does what he was calling crab pots. Pretty much a scrog surrounding just one pot. At least your still able to move them around. I have some extra PVC laying around, might give it a whirl eventually. That’s my no1 dislike I can't get in the tent, every single little thing requires stretching, leaning, bending and reaching, I nearly landed in it one day trying to tuck a few heads under.
Yes there is a downside I've got plans to fix future screens to the pots so I can remove them and get in beside them, trying to work from outside is absolute crap.
