Topping Ruderalis

Does anyone know if I am supposed to top Ruderalis plants, or are they best left alone?
I want to thank all that respond.

Leave alone - LST - Top. All depends on your desired end results.. The autos don't give a rats ass.
Organic soil auto grower.
Sir, those are fine looking plants. I grew in the early 80s. Are you trimming all the fan leaves while in the flowering stage?
Thanks to all of you that responded.

I would leave them and just do some LST. Some do top autos but I would not. Keep in mind these are called Auto's, not Ruderalis plants. Ruderalis is a Russian weed that is a true auto flower, it is crossed with photo period plants to make auto flowers and is usually about 10% of the genetics. Ruderalis is itself is small with very low THC, it is the auto gene that is useful and that is why they cross it with regular photo plants.

Thanks. I stop watering about a week out and begin removing leaves every couple of days and let 'em dry in the pot. Just a technique I developed that works for me. Organic soil auto grower.

Sir, What is your light schedule. I am on a 20 on 4 off.

Hello Quirk,
Thank You for your response. That is what I suspected.

Hey @dolchmann
Auto's dont have a solid veg time so training is typically avoided. With photoperiod plants, you can train away, then flip to flower when you please.
With autos, they could go to flower super fast, or even go on forever till you flip to 12/12 out of desperation

you can top them if they are healthy you don't want to stunt them. Usually you would want to do it early maybe 2-3 weeks in depends on how big they are etc. you lst them as well.

Hello Boatguy,
I have a auto plant that is having a hard time flowering. It started 2 weeks ago, but seems stunted.

Hello Boatguy, I now realize I have a Gorilla Glu auto that is having trouble going into pure flowering mode. I only have my phone for pictures and I do not know of anyway to get phone pics to my computer. I have a White Widow auto and Gorilla glu auto the same age 4 weeks, the White Widow is in full flower. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WITH AUTO'S. Can I flip the light schedule to 12on 12 off for a week and go back to the 20 on and 4 off or will I have to stay on 12on and 12off until the end. This defeats my whole purpose of growing auto's and might be the reason that this thread has some auto negativity.

@dolchmann, I use 18/6. Nothing more than personal preference as it coincides with my sleep time.
I've had equal success at 20/4.
