hello can someone tell me what kind of lights i will need because i do not know much and this is my first grow. I currently have 4 little lights but i wanna know what exactly and how many lights i need because i heard these are not that great. Here is information to the lights i have now and my tent size. I will be growing 6 plants in it as big as i can possibly grow them to fill the tent. Any help please. Lights are all pretty much the same size that i own 8×12. The 3 i have say they are 1000watt each i am not sure if that is true. The other one says 4000watt. Please let me know the best lights for the grow tent and for the price.

I would grab a couple Mars Hydro 3000's and use the lights you have to fill in the gaps. Those lights you have are fine for veg, but they're not going to cut it for bloom.

OR, ditch those lights all together and get 2 Spider Farmer SF-4000's. They have top shelf components for a good price and they crank! They're also dimmable. If you want an even cheaper option, grab 8 "Uoiuxc 1000's" off of Amazon. They are 30% off right now. 8 of them will fill your tent perfectly. BEST LIGHTS FOR THE PRICE! Under $70 each. I have several of them and they kick ass. They definitely compare to top shelf brands. Chinese brand, but they use Samsung Diodes and Meanwell drivers which are top of the line. The new ones are also dimmable which is awesome!

So, depending on your budget there's a few options for you. I'm not including top shelf $2,000 lights because I just don't think they're worth the extra loot.

For the $ and value I would go with 2 Spider Farmer SF-4000's. But there's cheaper ways to do it and get the same results.

Look up each of your lights and see what their power draw is. What these cheap led manufacturers do is take the maximum wattage for each led, add it up and call it a 1000 or 1200 watt when in fact the light only draws 150 watts from the wall. So look at the actual power draw of the lights, not the lies they put into the description. Now your space is 96 square feet and for optimal lighting you want 35 watts per square foot of good led's so you need 3360 watts worth of lighting. Hope that helps.

I only see an option to purchase 5 of those uoiuxc lights per person. Think mabey i should go with 2 mars hydro 3000. 2 mars hydro 2000s with the lights i have won't cut it? They are a lot cheaper. Let me know for best future reference as it will pay it self off and i want a good setup.

That is what i heard it wasn't quite explained to me but people told me the lights i have will not cut it and are not the wattage they claimed.

In order to get the 30% off of each uoiuxc light, you have to place 8 separate orders. So, add one to your cart, click the 30% off button, check out and repeat. Kind of a pain in the ass but it's 30% off man! 2 Mars Hydro 3000's alone won't cut it for your space. You could buy 4 Mars Hydro 2000's.

It said that only 6 of those uoiuxc lights are left in stock so i am not sure i can go with that option

Didn't see the pic of the 8x4 tent. 8 of them uoiuxc lights would be a bit on the weak side.
Think I would want 10 minimum.

Sorry if I assumed you wanted LED's. Other types of grow lights (with bulbs) are much cheaper, they just cost more to run and often they need special wiring and their own sub panel for electric or you'll be flipping breakers and causing problems for yourself. Most LED companies will show you the space that specific light is rated for, VEG and BLOOM. I have several 4x8 tents myself and I've spent hours and hours researching the most cost efficient way to light them. You can always double check the reviews for most lights on youtube as well. Many reviewers use PAR meters and show you exactly how much space the light can cover for blooming plants.

mabey i should just buy the 2 spider farmer sf-4000s then? I got the money but did not expect to spend this much. Then again i am new to this. I am sure it will pay itself off.

Thank you for helping me with this. Glad you have been through this with this tent and can help.

Nothing saying you can't mix and match. I have 2 Bloom Plus BP 3000's and 4 Uoioxc 1000's in one of my 4x8's.. Bloom Plus's in the center and the 4 Uoioxc's on the left and right.

Personally I don't run 8x4s anymore but I used to use the original quantum boards and COBs

Now I just run a few small tents, Quantum boards, highlight boards all for flowering, cmh for veg tent.
Suits my environment with little hassle year round.

Do you live in a warm, mild or cold climate?

If warm the SFs will be good , if cool or mild I would go with a couple of 630cmh

LEDs tend to not like cool climates , which is fine as you can keep it warm, but defeats the point of efficiency if you have to put a lot more effort into heating the space.
I live in michigan and it is getting cold.

Well, each uoiuxc can bloom out a 2x2 area. So 8 will cover a 4x8 nicely. The tent is also laced with mylar so it should be more than enough light.
